3 out of 5 eggsKinda fun

Pros: Guns and gadgets. Interesting NPC death animations. Cool easter eggs and cameos of older ID Software titles.

Cons: The game largely let me down. Between the RPG like quests, car racing/car combat it was kind of irritating.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat fun and then it ended!

Pros: It was a lot of fun, and the graphics are amazing on the PS3. I was playing along, fighting bad guys, pushing buttons, and suddenly...

Cons: just ended! The ending is so disappointing. I'm not a big fan of impossible end-bosses, but at least give us SOMETHING! No end boss, just pushed a button and the credits started rolling. Weird. And I just found some ammo for my weapon, too.

Other Thoughts: it's not Fallout3. It's like Fallout lite, as far as gameplay or exploring. But good characters and acting. It appears they created this incredible environment, filled it with interesting characters and stories, but finally had to release the game. It's no F3 or Oblivion or Skyrim. But fun while it lasted. Driving is fun, too. I haven't tried any MP action. 4 stars.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Game

Pros: Graphics and gameplay are awesome. Not sure who is giving this game negative reviews but playing on the PS3 is just pure enjoyment...I can't seem to stop playing it and it is definitely addictive. Everythign from 1st person shooter to racing your vehicles through the open world are pure enjoyment.

Cons: Characters and Story Line could be improved on.

3 out of 5 eggsCopied from GearBox

Pros: Excellent graphics.

Cons: This nothing more than updated copy of Borderlands developed by GearBox 2 years ago. The basics are the same just different maps and bad guys. I have Boarderlands and it's to bad that Bethesda Softworks ripped off someones product idea.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent, but ID rushed the ending

Pros: Enemy AI and character design was well thought out, with individual 'factions' of enemies acting different, in movements, etc.

Worlds a semi-open for exploring and give a good Mad Max feel.

Sound throughout is rich and relatively bug free

Controls are decent (pretty standard shooter setup), and the driving is fairly intuitive.

Multiplayer driving can be fun, assuming a massively over-qualified player ends up in your game with vasty superior firepower

Cons: The story mode was decently captivating for 80% of the game, with your character slowly unraveling the details of a corrupt government, and meeting some people along the way....then, abruptly, it's just over. No final showdowns, per say, no escaping exploding death stars, notta. I could be more forgiving if they included full multiplayer (see below), but this was a single-player adventure/shooter/racer/rpg thing first.

Graphically, the developers seems to sacrifice texture loading in order to maintain a constant 60fps. Look at a rock, and it looks like a blob for 3-5 seconds while the details load.

No Online Deathmatch...the game only offers 2-player cooperative challenge maps and multiplayer driving. Both are decent, but c'mon....I want to frag my neighbors instead of mutants sometimes.

Other Thoughts: This feels more like a rental to me, along the lines of 'The Darkness' from a few years back. Campaign only takes around 12 hours and I'm still undecided if the multiplayer is rich enough to hold my attention for more than a few races/challenges.

4 out of 5 eggsAnarchy Edition

Pros: One of the most stunning looking games to hit a console. Sharp, smooth animations make this post apocalyptic shooter very vivid and believable. It mixes Fallout atmosphere and plays like Crysis.

Cons: The game, however, is not perfect. There is noticeable texture pop ins every time you turn the camera. The Game is huge, and the graphics are very high res. Though this is an issue, when you are immersed in the world, you tend to not even realize it even happening. Speaking of it being a huge game, this leads to LONG load times and even saving takes a good half a minute. Lastly, even though the shooting is as strong as any new shooter out, melee combat is very sluggish and unresponsive.

Other Thoughts: I got the Anarchy Edition for pre-ordering the game, it is technically the same game but with added DLC and in game items/perks. It makes the game easier, but not a game changer. Dont expect to miss out on anything, the game is great nonetheless. The cover is a little different, sporting the Anarchy Edition in the title and it comes with a slip case of the same cover but with pop up text, which looks nice. This is a must have game for the end of the 2011 cycle and shows what still can be done for this generation of gaming.
