split fish GAMEWARE
Wired Controller

The right hand mouse controller has the complete set of PS3 controller buttons. The mouse is used during game play to shoot, look left, right, up and down for that same PC style game play experience on the PlayStation 3.

The mouse is optimized for navigation within the recently announced PlayStation Home virtual world.

A menu mode on the mouse allows it to double as a regular mouse during menu selections. A lap mouse pad and left hand grip cradle is included with the FragFX to allow for comfortable play in a living room setting.

The left hand re-programmable grip (nicknamed the "FragChuck" by G4TV) has the full range of 6-axis motion control providing Wii-like motion sensitivity for the PlayStation 3. In games like Resistance: Fall of Man, to reload a weapon or to rifle butt an opponent, the user can swing the FragChuck.

The FragChuck also offers a game speed dial and frag button. When the frag button is pressed it slows the mouse down to incremental movement for smooth sniper shots. The speed dial allows for instant fast or slow overall game play. These two additional features let the user get out of battles as fast as they get into them.

4 out of 5 eggsI'd buy it again.

Pros: Have only used this with MW2. Being a PC gamer (in leagues and various LAN events) for over ten years I refuse to use a controller to play an FPS game. Decided to give this a shot and was pleasantly surprised. It improved my ability to control my xhair from the start. Needed some sens tweaking ("High" ingame and "2-3" on the remote itself - it has a slide to adjust on the fly). It really does feel like a PC mouse... The other end isn't bad either. Would still prefer a keyboard but it's not too bothersome. My KD went from negative to 2:1 3:1 at times.

Cons: Took some getting used to and adjustments, if you want to call that a con. It does feel very cheap but has stood up to being dropped a few times so far. The only real issue that comes to mind is at random times the sensitivity will be incredibly fast for no reason. No adjustments will fix this other then unplugging the USB connection itself and reseating it.

Other Thoughts: I was very skeptical about this product and enjoy it now. The wireless version thusfar shouldn't even be sold. I originally ordered that and then canceled it due to it being pushed back two times. The people that have received it are all saying it's DOA. Splitfish is updating firmware but their support is the worst I have EVER seen. Be very wary of that. Reviews for that product can be found here, as well as at other major online retailers.

2 out of 5 eggsnot that great

Pros: well its a mouse for the PS3.
Newegg's awesome shipping.

Cons: feels cheap, the software update doesnt work, no support, the mouse aiming while playing MW2 is absolutly horrible since it has horrible sensitivity no matter how much you try to tweak it.

Other Thoughts: it would be nice if at-least the software update would work or Splitfish would reply to my support email.

4 out of 5 eggsFragFX v.2

Pros: No lag. It just work with no problem. Even my non playing brother could use it without any problem. For gamer from PC this should be a bridge to FPS. This is far better than using the controller.

Cons: Wired can get tangle easily.

1 out of 5 eggsJUNK

Pros: - make it feel (somewhat) like mouse and keyboard gaming

Cons: - bad build quality: plastic seem cheap. the mouse feel very light and very small. when clicking it doesn't even feel like you are clicking a mouse and have to "click" really hard for it to response. my controller package didnt come with english manual, only spanish -_-;.
- bad response: the mouse feel like it's a very very cheap ball mount, you cant get a smooth crosshair movement. the L3 button when you press (sprinting as in COD) takes a lot to press and your hand get tired really fast.

Other Thoughts: i didnt listen to other reviews and bought it and this is what i get.

save yourself time and money and go buy KontrolFreek and suck it up with the console FPS controller

this FragFX is so bad it gives you nowhere near computer experience but a hand cramp and disappointment

2 out of 5 eggsWhy don't Newegg get the Bannco Controller

Pros: It's a great controller if you have the right setting in-game and on your dailer. Plays very smooth and increase my accuracy a lot compare to the PS3 controller.

Cons: It's a cheap controller. The controller randomly changes it's sensitive on me in-game. The controller sometime randomly switches itself to controller 2 on my PS3. I would have to un-plug and plug back the controller to the USB to get it working normally.

First, I thought it was my PS3, so I got it replaced. Still same problem.

So, I went to f.r.y.s and got another fragfx to see if it was the Newegg controller, but it still gave me the same problem. Did the firmware upgrade couple times and still had the same problem with newegg and f.r.y.s fragfx controller. Then I exchanged the controller at f.r.y.s again and guess what? Had the same problem.

I also exchanged the controller from newegg and waiting to see if I still get the same problem.

Other Thoughts: Newegg should start selling Bannco controller and discontinue selling fragfx. Bannco controller are so hard to find.

4 out of 5 eggsUsable

Pros: this by far is much better than the sticks on the controller for those used to mouse/keyboard
chuck fits hand fairly well. The frag button is nice for sniping

Cons: the mouse is fairly akward, this takes getting used to but is doable. When playing a game like call fo duty when cooking a nade at times if u do not press the mouse buttons hard enough it will just throw the nade as apposed to cooking it, this is fairly annoying the sensitvity isnt as great as i would like when trying to make fast turns,

Other Thoughts: All in all this isnt a bad item and worth the money after all it is the same cost of a standard controller and does give more control over the fps genre of games.

wothwhile just takes getting used to

2 out of 5 eggsAwful

Pros: None

Cons: Very cheap plastic, mouse is too small for adult hands. I've tweaked and played with this thing for ever. Doesn't even come close to mouse keyboard setup. Setting sensitivity seems to do almost nothing. You just can't get that finite control you get with a PC mouse.

Take my word, learn to live with sixaxis. I do all my primary gaming on PC, but wanted to try out console FPS.

I should of listened to the reviews and saved my $. Thought I could of made it work.

Other Thoughts: I'm 39 year old mature gamer. Gaming most of my life, build my own systems etc. Now I see why you can't return this piece of garbage.

4 out of 5 eggsfragfx thanks ill have one

Pros: Me im a old time quake and cs player im very at home behind mouse and keyboad. Its been a few years since i played a fps but when i saw the mw2 commercials i could see that fps games have come a long way since i played last. Could not resist so i bought a ps3 slim and mw2. great game but i have never used a controller to play a game except with the original mario brothers nes system. So i immediately start serching the web came up with three options fragfxv2, frageinstin, fragfxpro the latter two are not in stock. So i bought the fragfxv2. as soon as i received it i used the fragfx tweak utility to make sure the firmware was latest and it was a go. also tweaked the pressure sensitivity and for some reason the buttons needed to be mapped all of this was super easy in the tweak utility.
on to game play set the game sensitivity on insane and the mouse sensitivity on three pretty smooth not as good as a mouse because its emmulating a joystick but at least i can aim.

Cons: the frag chuck hand gets a little weary after about 5 hours of straight gaming. yeah i like that game alot

4 out of 5 eggsdont believe what you read

Pros: well it works well. button placement has some thought. mouse is accurate enough. creates an experience SIMILAR to computer gamiing

Cons: setup is wired; buttons feel janky; buttons on mouse are stiff when new; side buttons are not suited for "man hands"; i adapted to it but mouse is very light; feels well made but light should have choices in size weight style color texture just as computer products considering price of device. cord is too short. 10ft. oh and i have trouble with the sensitivity dial on side. i seem to brush it when im getting beat up on cod4.

Other Thoughts: as for the review that states mouse is jittery or jumps around alot this is because you cannot make the mouse more sensitive than the game is designed to be. on one game i turned the lood sens. up and then turned the mouse up and got this effect. this is on any game. not a problem with the product but with people using it. mouse pad is not durable it is cloth on a plastic backing
