When you get that awesome new flat screen TV, those boxy old speakers lose their place. Get rid of them and move up to Yamaha's Bass-Reflex tower speaker, model NS225F. Its slim tower design will look good with most flat screen televisions.
That same design has the hidden benefit of preventing some of the common forms of distortion. Gold plated brass extruded speaker terminals, a steel base, and other high quality parts will insure an excellent performance for years to come. So throw out those outdated speakers and learn what you've been missing out on today.
This review is from: YAMAHA NS225F 2-Way Bass-Reflex Tower Speaker Single
Pros: Very good construction, magnetic speaker screen is a nice touch for easy removal and install. Beautiful speakers, decent bass and very good overall sound quality, crisp and little to no distortion. You will need a subwoofer to get full sound out of these, but they do put out much more bass than one would think with the speaker size. Metal base makes these slim towers pretty sturdy on the floor.
Cons: Speaker terminals are near the top of the speaker which can be awkward with hiding your wires, Not a big fan of the silver front, the sides and back are black, so can have issues with matching your Home theater components and TV.
Other Thoughts: Overall these are great speakers meant to be your main Left and right channel, I use my Infinity P362's up front and these Yamahas as my rear surround L/R speakers, much more depth than the Polk audio satellites they replaced. Buy these and you will not be dissapointed.
