5 out of 5 eggsGood deck for the price

Pros: Installed nicely on a 2005 Celica GT-S. Time took all of about 20 minutes. The unit was not flush with the deck but it was a cosmetic flaw and I knew this would happen prior to the installation so I had to purchase trim pieces separately. The display is nice and bright and can be adjusted if it's TOO bright. Video on this deck is very high quality, especially for the price. The ability to change the background image is pretty nice as the default images/schemes aren't the greatest of quality. The backlight color on the buttons can be changed to match the interior lights of your car or can be set to cycle through a wide array of different colors.

The EQ settings get pretty detailed and can keep you pretty occupied for the first hour/day or so as you try to set it to match the sound you prefer. The overall sound quality is great, I noticed a huge difference over even my $800 Kenwood.

Cons: I can't really think of too many cons. Lack of trim pieces? Naw, that's more or less specific to the dash setup of Toyota/Scion's so I can't blame Pioneer for this.

Ah... I have one complaint, I guess. When you use a USB flash drive or an external hard drive to play music from... I have my music on my flash drive set up in folders. First by artist then sub folders for albums. When you back out to the root folder menu, it starts at the very top of the list as opposed to the folder you last selected. I don't run into this issue with my iPod however.

Other Thoughts: I have this unit powering two rear 300watt RMS 6.5" speakers and two front 6.5" speakers with 3/4" tweeters without an issue. I completely neglected to wire in my amp for my speakers because I'm pretty positive it wouldn't have made much of a difference with the quality... this deck is that good. The RMS output might not be the highest you'll find but I've learned over the years that high RMS doesn't necessarily mean it can power the speakers effectively. My last deck I spent over $800 for made everything sound hollow and dead, even with a 4 channel 500watt amp. I also have two 12" subs powered by a 2500watt amp and the sub response is amazing.

Again, don't be fooled by the RMS output rating... it gets loud and sounds amazing if you have the right configuration, without having to dump $xxxx into multi-channel amps.

Something I didn't have room for in the pro's section, my iPod touch connects just fine via the USB and can be controlled by the deck.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Screen looks good, picture and sound quality very good.
Plays all normal sound files.
Supports lots of add ons (hd radio, sat radio, bluetooth, etc)
All around good unit.

Cons: DVD's with lots of files take a bit to load.
Screen could be larger, but the price you cant be beat.
