1 out of 5 eggsGreat expectations Big letdown

Pros: looks nice
sturdy stand
nice cable length

Cons: high pitch ringing

Other Thoughts: sounds absolutely like trash even after following the instructions turning off agc and trying to relocate to every usb port on my pc aswell as a usb hub there is a high pitch ringing noise that persists Ive tried moving the mic position close, far. looked up videos on youtube and searched forums for a fix. to no avail.
I'm really disappointed turns out my usb webcam has better quality then this and I could have saved myself some time and money.

1 out of 5 eggs1/5

Pros: Functions

Cons: Audio quality is terrible, worse than my webcam (Logitech C110). I have now decided to use the webcam's microphone to record as opposed to recording using this microphone. Over Skype, this microphone has an occasional sound that it puts out similar to a fan being operated within it. I have also been told that it puts off a very high-pitched whine at times.

Other Thoughts: I would not reccomend this product to anyone. Simply because of its obvious malfunctions. I honestly am going to do my best to return it or sell it to someone who just needs something that will work. I am a YouTuber, and this is just garbage.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent mic for $25, Bad for anything more than that

Pros: This goes for under $25 elsewhere, which is a good price for the CAD U1. Anything more than that is a joke. The audio quality is decent and it works well for voice-overs.

The mic and the stand it comes with are built very well. The physical mute switch on the mic, long cable, and USB connectivity make the mic convenient to use.

Cons: The mic picks up feedback from everything around it - really needs a couple of ferrite cores attached to the ends of the cable to prevent this. ACG is enabled by default in the audio settings and makes the mic sound terrible.

Other Thoughts: I've seen this mic priced all over the place. I got mine for $18 - they generally go for around $25. If you're spending $50, buy a Blue Snowball. If you're spending more, get a Blue Yetti.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrid

Pros: None

Cons: Terrible amount of noise and feedback. Recordings were terrible compared to the little Logitech USB Mic I had been using. Attempted to use it with multiple Macs recording with different Apps.
Couldn't return to NewEgg and CAS Audio never replied to my emails. So I threw it in the garbage.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh...It's ok

Pros: Looks cool and it's plug n play!

Cons: Honestly for $40 you get what you pay for. Think it runs at about $80 now. There was a little noise in the recordings with this microphone but overall it's decent. On screen, it looks sturdy and authentic but in person it's a little on the cheap side.

Other Thoughts: Maybe since they bumped the price up $40 some improvements were made. All in all, just a decent microphone.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat microphone

Pros: - Really good quality
- Nice stable stand that collapses for easier storage
- USB interface prevents you from having to mess with horrid audio drivers that come with typical cheap built-in sound cards
- Physical on-off power switch (This was a must for me, being the paranoid person I am {I'm also looking for a webcam with a switch on it, tip me off if you find a nice one!})

Cons: There may have been some minor kinks along the way, but I never found any really good reasons to dislike it.

Other Thoughts: I got this microphone because I didn't want to use a headset, I like my nice speaker system. I also didn't want some cheap little desk mic that had no recording quality, I'd like to have it for those times when I really want a high quality clip.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for Podcasting

Pros: Great pick up, picks up even the quietest noises at a distance. Good omni-directional pick-up as well. Little to no accustic noise associated with the Computer itself

Cons: Because it can pick up the quietest noises, if you have it on a table, and you bump said table, it will sound like a loud thud on the recording. You may want to place it on someing with some cushion.

Other Thoughts: All in all a great mic, and with the right placement, provides a great recording experience. Good for non-professional use, like a podcast or other general recording.

5 out of 5 eggsPart 2

Pros: I've had this mic for over 6 months now (see my earlier review) and it still works great. Despite my earlier warning about incompatibilities, it does fully work on windows 8 (and 8.1) without issue. I had some sort of other weird issue going on with the drivers there.

Cons: Needs to come with a screen. The stand is great and sound quality is good, but you'll get a lot of interference with your "p"s. You can buy screens seperately, or you can talk into the mic sideways or even make your own out of an old pair of panty hose and some wiring.

Other Thoughts: Use this for LPs, still works great to this day.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Clear recording when working, included stand is great, simple setup.

Cons: This mic picks up a lot of interference. I've experienced it picking up radio stations, as well as white noise from stuff like an older LCD as well as my printer- it's really off-and-on. Sometimes it even makes a popping sound.

Other Thoughts: My friends and I picked this up for making YouTube videos as a group. It's decent for the price, and works as it should when it wants to. Play with it and it's positioning some to get it to work. - I thought about putting electrical tape on the soldered connections under the unscrew-able pop filter.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: -Good sound quality for price
-Stand is decent
-Its not too big

Cons: -Microphone can pick up radio transmissions...

Other Thoughts: It is worth it for 40 dollars, but I don't think I would pay much more than that.
