4 out of 5 eggsgood bang for the buck.

Pros: Compact, quick boot, HDMI, big drive and cheap.

Cons: Can’t upgrade the memory or internal cards and it has a lot of bloat-ware.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my sister for Christmas who needed a new computer just for the web. I have it set up for her with a dual display to a 17” monitor and a 36” flat panel via HDMI and set up her windows media center with Netflix and access to my media server . I spent an extra 89 bucks and bought a Snapstream Firefly media remote and a Linksys usb wireless network adapter and now she has her own media center pc. Everything works great with no problems. I recommend this pc to anyone who needs an inexpensive machine.

3 out of 5 eggsNice Machine BUT

Pros: Very nice compact fast machine. Fast boot & quiet. Great servisce from new egg

Cons: Power switch. I have had this machine for a little over a month. Power switch board is going bad. Takes 3 to 5 minutes to get switch to activate. Customer srevice no help at all. They insist that I send the machine in at my cost for repair. They refuse to send me a power switch board for me to replace.

Other Thoughts: I would advise not buying this model.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Small, reasonably fast, reasonably complete for most home purposes. No wireless but plugged a small Tenda USB wireless-N into back USB port, and problem solved.

Cons: Not highly upgradable, but not made to be. Occasional (one per every evening or two) "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered" error on routine actions such as enlarging a window, until I updated driver to very latest 195.81 beta. Seems to solve problem. I hope.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent machine so far.

Pros: Fast boot (less than a minute), decent amount of RAM and GPU power, good sized hard drive, HDMI and DVI video outs, very quiet. Excellent hardware for the price.

Cons: Annoying bloatware installed on Acer machine, but just grab CCleaner or Revo Uninstaller and get rid of it. Not much room for RAM or graphics card expansion, but as a HTPC I guess not a lot is needed. Unlike others, I haven't had a problem with power button as of yet.

Other Thoughts: Running my primary desktop with dual monitors and not one single hitch so far. The power button has couse problems with some, but my unit's laid on it's side (vents pointed up) and haven't had any difficulties so far. At first there was a little case rattle when running, but after placing on it's side that went away.

2 out of 5 eggsreturning this one

Pros: Compact size is nice
Very quiet
HDMI in good location
HDD and DDR great for product size and price
The new Acer monitor worked fine w/ PC as HDMI.

Cons: The power button simply doesn't work and I had trouble with it from the point I turned it on. I read all the reviews and still couldn't find just the right spot.
Half of the installed programs had 2006 dates on them. While I understand bundles and low cost, that's ridiculous!
Acer help sent me link to product manual that required me to add a zip program in order to access. All I wanted was their preferred port for one speaker jack since I wasn't doing 5.1.
Had problems installing my fairly new HP Photosmart printer but didn't go far enough to determine if it was Win 7 or HP or driver.

Other Thoughts: I'm not a novice and this isn't my first computer by far. In the past 18 months we have purchased 3 Acer Aspire laptops and we love them so until this I wasn't even opposed to the brand. Now, I'm going to return this one and probably switch to HP.

5 out of 5 eggsNice little box

Pros: -Well suited as a Media Center PC
-Crapware is relatively easy to remove (see cons)
-Looks good in living room
-Win 7
-Relatively competent graphics card (DX10 compatible, great video decompression)

Cons: -Lots of bloatware installed OOTB
-The power button, while kind of flimsy feeling, isn't really so bad once you determine where to push on it (at the top of the flimsy plastic piece). You can actually feel the resistance pushing against it, and it turns off and on predictably once you find the right spot to push
-Absolutely zero hope for upgrading the RAM, and the case isn't particularly friendly for people who want to poke around inside it

Other Thoughts: Very happy with computer. So far I have with almost zero effort managed to install a wide assortment of software. It's a fast little machine that looks good and happens to be cheap. Highly recommended for those who don't intend to upgrade much on their machine.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast, Small footprint, windows7. Large Hard Drive, High Def Video Card.

Cons: No dedicated VGA output so you have to use the supplied DMI/VGA adapter. Power switch sometimes doesn't work as mentioned by other customers.

Other Thoughts: This is a great PC for the price. I bought this for the wife as she wanted a smaller sized system with Windows 7 installed. The machine is much faster than her old Dell and apart from the fancy blue lit power switch causing a few probs we have had no other issues.

I contacted Acer support about the switch problem and they issued an RMA but we decided to keep it as it's been working ok recently so fingers crossed it holds up over the long term.

3 out of 5 eggsNot the greatest

Pros: Small compact unit, video card has HDMI, fans run quiet, good for internet, email, and schoolwork (not good for graphics rendering or very graphic rich gaming)
Cheap (get what you pay for)

Cons: Poor quality parts, not very good air flow across the parts that matter (controller chip, video card (cheap fan on videocard that will need to be replaced if in a dusty enviroment, ex: carpeting, pets, smoking), and hard drive).

**DO NOT KEEP PC ON FLOOR- the dust the PC will draw in at the floor level will clog the cooling fins and destroy the fan bearings causeing rattling and/or fan failure (overheating).

Truely a "throw away" PC if it fails after the warranty (not a very green solution even if recycled)

Other Thoughts: After a week the power supply failed, called Acer tech support and was told to send the entire unit in for repair, they could not guarantee that my data would not be lost, after 30min of asking why the entire unit needs to be sent in (asking several times to speak with a manager), finally they agreed to just send the power supply (much faster turn around then sending the entire unit in). Other competitors will suggest sending the part rather then having the entire PC sent in (cheaper for the company) and only will have the entire PC sent if the customer cannot replace the part themselves.
I do not rate the Acer customer service very well due to #1- huge language barrier, #2- hassle to get a simple part replaced.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Machine

Pros: Inexpensive. Perfect machine for everyone except hardcore gammers. Works great for an Entertainment PC and workstation.

Cons: Power Switch is a bit goofy. Some times I have to push it more than once to make the machine power up.

Other Thoughts: I have purchased 4 of these machines, 1 for a niece, 1 for an Ent PC and 2 for workstations at the office.
I would normally build machines, but for this price why bother?
