1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy if you want to play blu-ray

Pros: form factor

Cons: won't play blu-rays, support is useless - wanted to charge to resolve issue.

Other Thoughts: better units out there that are cheaper and play blu-ray discs

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MC PC

Pros: Looks awesome in entertainment unit. Performs well. Yes it is not a gaming PC. If you know anything about PCs you'll know that going into it. Track pad is great, but...

Cons: ... the keyboard is not. I figured as much when I bought it. Not worth knocking any eggs off though. Don't expect to do any word processing with it. Ok for surfing. If you are having trouble with lagging like some have reported... uninstall the trial antivirus, it is a resource hog. Get the free MS antivirus instead. It works.

Other Thoughts: Right away the native resolution went beyond my screen but using the nVidia Control Panel I was able to make it fit with no problem. I would say the average user would need some help with this. I have used Acer support for years in my line of work, IT professional, and I have never had a problem with them. Buy they extended warranty from the Acer site. The Fix My Acer support link is great if you need to RMA something. I have worked on literally hundreds of Acers and I have only had to RMA 2 of them.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little box for basic net streaming, etc.

Pros: -This thing is TINY. It's less than half the size of my bluray player. Just incredibly small.
-It's nearly silent. No fan noise whatsoever (so far at least).
-Handles Netflix, Hulu, and VUDU just fine as long as you're not doing other things in the background.
-"Remote" is functional, but takes a while to get used to.

Cons: -It's an overgrown netbook processor, so anything more than basic video streaming and that type of thing will probably be too much. This is NOT a gaming machine.
-The documentation is AWFUL. For any lost souls like me who couldn't figure out the "mouse," one tap = left click, tap and hold = right click, double tap = double click, tap then tap and hold = drag and drop. I also recommend turning off the tablet features in "Turn Windows features on and off." It also helps to speed up the mouse in the control panel in my opinion.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it's a great little machine if you're looking for something that can 1) take the place of any Roku-like box out there, 2) play DVD's and blurays, and 3) handle any other media collections you may have. The trackpad is a little weird, but functional. I'll probably still buy a Windows Media Center remote eventually, but this definitely gets you by.

2 out of 5 eggsNeeds work

Pros: It looked nice.

Cons: I recieved two units. The first had a hard time playing anything, DVD, Blueray, .wav file. It would skip, slow down, the sound would not play back. The second had the same issues. I will not be getting another.

Other Thoughts: These need some work. The touchpad in theory is a great idea, but in the real world it need alot of work. The range is minimal, it needs a unobstructed view of the headunit and the layout is a little weird. The headunit would be great if it work properly.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat HTPC

Pros: - Very nice touch screen remote if being used as a HTPC
- Faster than the old Revos
- Looks beautiful for an Acer product
- Looks great with other A/V components at the TV

Cons: - Current Nvidia drivers (275.33) do not work/ are unsupported

Other Thoughts: Acer has been making their revo line for quite some time now and have learned what it takes to make a good HTPC. With this unit they finally ditched the atom processors for an AMD chip that has a little more power so that online steaming at 1080p does not lag. The unit itself also looks amazing and although they still fall short, everything from the packing to the unit itself has that "Apple" feel about it. Acer definitely is heading in the right direction with this unit as a HTPC. The touch screen track pad works great - in keyboard mode the buttons are surprisingly responsive and the whole trackpad is awesome to use. Don't expect this thing to be a powerhouse machine, but if your goal is to run all of your media at the TV, it is one of the best solutions out there.
- Current running XBMC as media center front end and works great
