The Pavilion M6330F from HP harnesses the power of Quad-Core computing. The Phenom X4 9500 runs at 2.2GHz and the integrated memory controllers take full advantage of the 3GB of memory. The 640GB SATA hard drive has all the room you need for your files, whether they are documents, movies, music or your own custom mash-ups.

The SuperMulti DVD drive has LightScribe technology so you can record your custom mixes and then make your own label. The front of the case has a 15-in-1 card reader so you can pull files from most forms of flash media. There are also 2 USB 2.0 ports on the front to easily plug in a thumb drive. Set your art free onto the net through the Fast Ethernet connection.

The M8300F is designed for media enthusiasts. A TV tuner card lets you take entertainment breaks without leaving your desk. In addition to the standard outputs of USB 2.0 and audio, there is also a FireWire port on the front panel. And to make copying things from a video camera easy there's even an input section with stereo audio, S-Video and composite video connections. It's a digital world - HP helps you live in it!

3 out of 5 eggsHas potential

Pros: Phenom X4, 3GB ram, does everything i need it to without any problem.

Cons: poor power supply at 300w. cannot upgrade anything on that. Ram is only 667 speed, could have at least done with 800. processor runs HOT at 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Hard drives run pretty warm at 115 degrees on C drive and 112 on E drive. Update to enable the L3 cache actually slowed it down a bit but not as much as people say. only about 10%

Other Thoughts: This is a nice computer for very mild gaming and great for media center but for those weary of temps beware. this thing runs especially warm on all aspects. i have to put a small desk fan blowing on the hard drives to keep them under 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

4 out of 5 eggsFast But Runs Hot

Pros: Fast processor, lots of memory, tv tuner, av inputs, ok video card

Cons: this thing runs hot for me. 55-60C at idle in a completely open area. i have tried multiple things to lower it but still have no luck.

Other Thoughts: if anyone else has some suggestions on why this is then please let me know. even though 55-60 is still in specs of safe running it is still really hot compared to others.

5 out of 5 eggsHP M8330F

Pros: Less then a month owning, but so far this computer rocks! Multitaks with ease (burn lightscribe CD's while recording a movie from cable and surfing the internet... Easily Best price from Newegg. Comes with good to go software like Media center and practical things like CD labeling software.
Plenty of ports on this machine. Not dissapointed.

Cons: TV tuner card DOA, but to HP's credit, very good phone support and then very quick shipping and return. They had the computer back to me in 4-5 days. I don't think you can use off the shelf
SATA drives for extra storage. HP wants you to use its customized Media bay :(

Other Thoughts: Great for Gaming, TV watching/recording and virtually anything else. I paired this with a HP2207h 22 inch monitor and it looks beautiful. With the HP software installed, Vista is good to go with no problems.

4 out of 5 eggsThe New Computer

Pros: Well the quad is excellent. Had running iTunes, Firewox, a DVD, and about 5 open folders and maintained a CPU Usage of less than 40%. Excellent case, with a good quality Graphics card. I installed XP right when I got it, Vista just doesn't work for me. Vista is a bit slower on this machine. Though the 3GB is wonderful, never have to worry about memory usage. The mouse is nice too. A good computer for someone looking something almost high-end but with a great low price.

Cons: I really couldn't get the intergrated LAN port to work in XP, no driver for it.
The intergrated tv-tuner card is "alright" not working properly with Media Center. Wish it had more USB ports, but 6 is just enough to get me by.

Other Thoughts: The double Hard Druve both 320Gb is excellent for me. I use one SATA HD for my XP Meida Center, and the other SATA HD I partitioned 3 times. Quad-Booting with XP, Vista, Ubuntu, Sabayon. By the way Linux runs smoothly on this machine, best Linux performance I have ever had. I owned an older HP back in 2006, and I used it until I got this one. It was P4HT, 250GB, 1.5GbRAM, and always ran at it's best. Tis computer tottally blows it away. Again don't find much use for the tv-tuner, and the intergrated LAN doesn't work with XP due to no drivers, so I had to go and buy a Wireless PCI Expansion Slot.
Good computer, and recommend.
