5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Everyone says the video card isnt good for gaming but so far I've had 0 issues. It runs all my games at high levels not maximum but high enough AION online runs like a champ.

Cons: The powersupply should be more then 300. I am thinking about putting in my 650.

Other Thoughts: Great machine!

5 out of 5 eggsCurious to know

Pros: I have a Gateway LX 6200 that came with a Phenom 9500 but have upgraded it to a Phenom II 945. This system most likely uses the same board as mine and I am curious to know what BIOS this 4300 comes with...

Cons: No overclock ability on the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Anybody that has this I am curious to know the BIOS version.

5 out of 5 eggsDon't Listen to the guy below me.

Pros: I don't own this.

Cons: Nothing.

Other Thoughts: "The supplied graphics card definitely isn't a gaming card by any stretch of the imagination, but it's workable for general use and maybe even the occasional low-medium setting 'World of Warcraft' outting."
The 4650 isn't a gaming card, but it can run World of Warcraft with everything max but the shadows. My girlfriend has the same card, and it works great with Wow on 1440x900 40-60 frames everywhere, but Dalaran.

5 out of 5 eggsExtremely Solid Pre-Build Machine

Pros: Quick AMD quad-core processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD. Its got a surprising amount of space inside for upgrades considering it's a smallish midsize tower. Some interesting design choices were made aesthetically to the case, but overall it's totally functional pleasing to the eye. Large processor fan and rear exhaust fan have kept things quite cool even under load.

Cons: The drop-down spring-loaded mechanism concealing the disk drive popped off the first time I went to use it, so it's just been sitting there since the day I got it home. The power supply is only 300W, so it'll power everything that it comes with but not much more. The supplied graphics card definitely isn't a gaming card by any stretch of the imagination, but it's workable for general use and maybe even the occasional low-medium setting 'World of Warcraft' outting. A regretful amount of Gateway bloatware. Easily removed, but horribly annoying.

Other Thoughts: The very first thing I did when I took this out of the box was rip the PSU and the graphics card out to replace with a 700W power supply and an ATI HD 4850 card, both of which work wonderfully and fit great inside the case. Putting both of those in there has really unlocked the potential of the machine, and I feel like I got a huge amount of computer for a relatively affordable price.

It's chugged through everything I can throw at it so far, making me a believer in AMD processors. I haven't had any lockups, freezes, BSODs, or crashes. The only problem I can say that I've battled with was installing dual monitors, but I'd chock that more up to the graphics card I installed and Vista gremlins than anything. Overall this computer is an enormous value, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing for the money

Pros: I've had 2 friends that I have recommended this system to and it is a GREAT buy. The hardware is solid and this thing is VERY quiet. It has a gigabit Ethernet port, 56K modem, and added wireless B/G card giving you every option for connectivity. The built in card reader is awesome for those who have digital cameras. 8GB of DDR2 is nice and lets Vista 64 run at full potential. 1TB drive gives you TONS of storage. The 4650 has a DVI, VGA, and HDMI connection, which is very nice. It is powerful enough to give some moderate gaming at low-mid settings. However, for an avid gamer this would not be the card to get.

Cons: I would have done the DVD eject differently, and included the OEM reinstallation disks, (I hate that these are not included these days. I rather be charged an extra 10 bucks just to have them). It uses a 300W powersupply, which is enough to power the system but would need upgraded if looking to put in a more powerfull video card or a few more drives.

Other Thoughts: I was worried about bloatware, however, I believe the only real thing that it comes with is a trial of Norton and MS Office. These are easily uninstalled. It comes with MS Works which is good enough for most people, Office home/student is cheap if you need it.

The AMD Phemom II is a nice chip. The i7 has the crown and OCes to no end, but for someone who is looking for a low cost powerful OEM machine, the new AMD's really are the way to go.

4 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: System is real cool so far, havent had any trouble with Vista 64bit or any other software issue. Runs most games I play(WoW, CS, Warhammer) smooth with a decent framerate. RAM and Processing power is good too. Another perk is its real quiet.

Cons: Gimped l3 cache, 4mb compared to the 6mb of the 900 series but whatever the price is good for this machine. The eject button attached to the case (and not the DVD drive itself) for the single DVD drive doesnt work for the DVD player so I have to open it through windows.

5 out of 5 eggsThe box rocks and won't leave you broke!!

Pros: The quad processor on this box is super fast and the 8 gigs of ram just add to the blazing performance. It's so refreshing to have all this computer power for such a low price. Thanks Newegg!! You guys rock!!

Cons: It didn't come with any setup or recovery discs but there's an app on the box that will create one. It just would be nice to have original OEM discs.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Computer for the price!

Pros: excellent vlaue for what you get. I have thrown everything that I know at this computer and it takes it like a champ... world of warcraft at nearly the highest settings(amazing)... autocad, visio and office. I have not needed tech support so I cannot comment on gateways customer support. Everything works great and the 23 inch monitor I got with it... used the HDMI cable(included) and the images, pictures, gameplay are incredible. It really stands apart from most monitors. The ATI graphics card is not the best, but dam good providing standard VGA, and HDMI(HD).

Cons: wired keyboard and mouse. Although I can live with it, I prefer to have a wireless keyboard and mouse and I don't want to spend the money to buy them as they look and feel great, just wired.

1 out of 5 eggsI hate Gateway

Pros: none

Cons: Gateway's customer service sucks! Trying get a simple answer from Gateway is ridiculous. There phonme support appears to be an infinitre loop that asked the question over and over. I did not realize that I would have so much trouble with Vista 64. I have a $10,000 printer that will not work with Vista 64. I decided that I may be I could change the OS to XP64. I have sent 4 emails to Gateway and all I get ios smoke screens. I am not asking rocket science questions! this was the last response i received "Did you get an operating system downgrade disk at the time of purchase? If no, I am not able to assist you in changing the operating system for your system. ". gee thanks gateway

Other Thoughts: why can't I rma this when i just got the PC?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat machine, better price

Pros: -8GB memory more than enough for high-powered gaming
-1TB hard drive!
-ATI radeon 4650 1GB graphics card is a relatively inexpensive beast.
-Phenom 2.6GHz quad-core processor with a massive cache, unbeatable processing speed
When I was shopping around for a decent gaming comp for around $700, HP was the only one to offer a comparable substitute to this DX4300-01. The closest one cost over $1000. This gateway rocks! Newegg is a good egg.

Cons: cant think of any

Other Thoughts: woop
