5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Machine

Pros: Small - Quiet - Powerful - Cheap
A great deal for the price - unbelievable
never crashed - never had any issues whatsoever with anything, owned for a little less than a year.

It's a great HTPC

Cons: Graphics doesn't play starcraft 2 on medium settings. But that's because starcraft is a beast.

Other Thoughts: Some idiot rated this computer 1 egg because he couldn't install a probably pirated copy of microsoft office. Ignore the idiot.

1 out of 5 eggsUnable to install MS Office

Pros: Great form factor, quiet, quick for what my mom needs

Cons: For the life of me, I can not get Microsoft Office installed. I've tried 2010, 2007, none will install. We kept getting the error that there was a problem with the Microsoft installer as it was corrupt.

We reinstalled Windows, still received the same error.

Sent it back to Newegg, and received the another version of the same model. Still same problem.

I've gotten so frustrated that we purchased a legal new version of 2010, and it still will not install! ARHHH!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat small computer

Pros: Love the small size and how fast Windows 7 starts up. More than enough power for internet browsing, Office & Lightroom. The HDMI output is a great addition.

Cons: Keyboard and mouse are wired, but that's expected at this price point.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and affordable

Pros: Very fast and quite.

Cons: minor drawbacks - keyboard and mouse are too small for my hands. Using my old HP keyboard

Other Thoughts: Small size makes it handy right behind my monitor - can reach the ports and memory card reader slots.
Uses less electrical power than a full size PC

5 out of 5 eggsVery GOOD

Pros: Setup took 2 minutes, everything works perfect. The wireless connects right the way if you have a unsecured line, Sets up your account by its self etc...

Cons: Lot of products that are trials, took a while to uninstall them.

Other Thoughts: Perfect for every low-end application.

4 out of 5 eggsPurchased several of these

Pros: I bought 4 of these for a local library and 1 more for a High School. Had no issues with any of the 5 I bought. All worked fine out of the box and were speedy enough to satisfy basic needs. Web/Email etc... Haven't had to deal with tech support and hope never have to.

Cons: I really don't like small cases with non standard power supplies, but the price was right and it is a compact unit so I opted for it despite the PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet

Pros: I totally disagree with the complaints of the earlier reviewer. This is the 4th one of these I've purchased for customers in the last year. They get newer hw/sw each time in the same cabinet for about the same price, i.e. it just gets better.
I have had no problems with any of them and I don't get called back for non-user problems. Just love these little guys (most customers put them on the desktop). Now they have i3 rocessors and a built-in wireless adapter with easy-to-use adapter software.
I don't impress easily but these are a good value and as problem-free as I've seen. No experience yet with Gateway support, so can't comment on that problem someone else reported.

Cons: 1. Cheap plastic linkage between the dvd ejection button and the drive button. Takes a specific panel layout on the drive if you ever have to replace it, plus it has to be a vertical-capable tray. So far I haven't had to deal with this. Customer has to learn to press the button very hard to eject the drive.
2. No keyboard start up capability on the mobo.
3. No space for a second drive which I like to add as a storage for (Acronis) backups. It would be nice to even have space for little notebook drive to fit in there.

Other Thoughts: Despite my gripes I still have to give them 5 eggs for trouble-free and good value product. My customers are not gamers, btw, and don't need special graphics cards, etc.

5 out of 5 eggsNice package for the Price

Pros: Small and very quite. Powers up fast with lots of memory and low power consumption. Have it set up to a Asus 18inch lcd monitor and the colors look amazing compared to my last desktop. Have no issues so far and very little bloatware. Love the i3 processor for the price!

Cons: Limited space to upgrade.

Other Thoughts: New Intell Processors are the best out there right now! Would recomend to Friends and Family!

4 out of 5 eggsGood So Far

Pros: Small footprint. Low power consumption. Integrated HDMI.
Strong 802.11 b/g/n wireless with external antenna with suction cup on the bottom of antenna.

Cons: When I powered it up for the first time, it went into the BIOS. It kept going into the BIOS with each subsequent power-on. You would think that the computer would already be pre-configured. The instructions are very vague but I finally realized I had to press the <Alt>+<F10> keys after the "Power On Self Test" beep to get into the set-up menu. (The initial installation software is on a seperate partition on the hard drive.) From the menu I chose load factory default settings, rebooted, escaped from the BIOS and the installation of the operating system, applications and drivers commenced on the main partition.

Other Thoughts: After initial set-up, I have had no problems with it. I have it going into an Onkyo TX-SR607 Receiver (HDMI Input) and then out to a 57" Hitachi rear projection CRT HDTV (HDMI out). It took me a while to get it to look decent on my TV but that is just because it is an older rear projection HDTV. If you hook it up to a fairly new flat panel HDTV it should look great. I did hook it up to an Asus 22" LCD monitor with HDMI input and the picture looks great but I am using this computer for my home theater. Not much "bloatware" installed. Comes with Power DVD but the free version does not decode Dolby Digital 5.1 so just uninstall that program and use Windows Media Center for full surround sound when playing a standard DVD. Have this computer paired up with an IOGEAR GKM561R 2.4Ghz wireless HTPC keyboard. My wife has owned a Gateway 17" laptop computer for about 3 years and it has been trouble free.

1 out of 5 eggsJUNK- No Customer Support Available

Pros: None that I found

Cons: Wouldn't boot consistently. Could never connect to internet by wire or wirelessly. I can deal with issues, BUT here is the best part - I could not get help from Gateway because they said my SN was not a valid ACER computer. Called a dozen times and could not get past that prompt. Tried online support - same problem. NEVER BUY A GATEWAY PRODUCT!!!!!
