5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: I've owned this computer for about 2 years now, still hasn't shown any bit of aging. Runs everything like a champ and has plenty of space for upgrades. It comes with more RAM than you'll need and a great CPU.

Cons: The case doesn't have much ventilation holes, so if you are running a beastly graphics card like a 680 or 7970, they will reach high high temps. But it can be fixed by just playing with no case.

2 out of 5 eggsparts not reliable

Pros: Runs well when it works

Cons: video card fried after 3 weeks of use, now I have to wait a minimum for gateway's terrible support to fix a problem that should not have happened in the first place.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: An update of the reviews made earlier. Gateway tech told me that the FX6860 could not expand beyond 8 Gig and went by what they said however, I found it weird to have four slots and as powerful as this computer is cannot go beyond 8 Gigs. So I brought 16 Gigs of ram and lo and behold it works and no memory errors. Gateway do not know what thier machines are capable of doing. I love the machine, so I upped to 5 eggs.

Cons: Other than being huge I found no cons.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Machine .. open box for the win

Pros: This machine is really fast, fully featured and amazingly cool and quiet. The graphics perform splendidly. I bought this because my DELL Studio laptop has abysmal performance on games.

Cons: It's not as portable as my laptop :p

Other Thoughts: I bought this on Open Box and was pleasantly surprised that everything was complete and worked perfectly. The machine booted right up.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Machine!

Pros: Great looking with the red racing stripes, fast, quiet, lots of ports, usb 3.0 is really nice, quad core i7. I replaced my single core Dell with this Gateway, wow, what a difference.

Cons: No manual included, I replaced the 8gb ram with 16gb the first week- memory slots are too close to the video card, which made installation harder than it needed to be. Would of been nice to have a 750 watt power supply instead of 500.

Other Thoughts: I have one program that runs in 32 bit only that I really miss, I hope someday it gets upgraded to 64 bit.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate on Gateway FX6860

Pros: After some investigating, the FX6860 does support 16 Gigabyte of ram and no thanks to Gateway itself. I am now pleased with my purchase

Cons: Not enough PCI express x1 slots

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent PC, especially for the cost!!!

Pros: Affordable, Fast, Efficient, Intelligent & is ready for many multi-program operations. This PC is quite a machine. As a Graphic Designer I knew that snagging up this PC would be an excellent idea for my company. I own other Gateway FX Series PC's and have never had any issues with any of them, so I knew this was a good purchase. Graphic Designing and Gaming are very closely related so if you are a Designer opt for one of these machines (if your company doesn't support MAC that is).

Cons: Its large PC... but I don't have any Cons at this time.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've been using this computer for gaming for a few months now, and loving it. It runs very smoothly, even with graphics heavy programs. No lag. I'd definitely recommend it.

Cons: The wireless antenna sent with the computer didn't work. I have to run wired.

3 out of 5 eggsGateway 6860

Pros: Other than not able to upgrade beyond 8 GB, the other specs are nice.

Cons: The Gateway 6860 uses a motherboard that does not allow the end user to upgrade beyond 8 GB. I had posted before about this typo that Newegg had listed in it's specs. For the money paid it is senseless that Gateway made a computer that can't go beyond 8 GB.
