5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

Pros: touchscreen, this is a great AIO PC, thin, light and great display for 799$ and 5$ shipping... nice deal!

Cons: i3, nothing wrong with an i3 processor just a bit on the slower side, my surface has an i5 and it is much faster. But costs much more!

Other Thoughts: don't like windows8 then you don't have a touch screen.

EVERY pc will be touch screen in the future, touch is not a replacement for the keyboard and mouse to get work done, but it greatly enhances them!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat computer for the money, great for elderly folks

Pros: My grandfather had been getting frustrated with his netbook. It was a gift from his son for Christmas, although his intentions were good, he didn't realize that a 78 year old man wouldn't appreciate an 11 inch screen and a keyboard that wouldn't fit his great-granddaughters hands. After looking at an advertisement for the "Wow computer" in an AARP magazine, he was convinced that this was the machine for him. He comes to me for anything technology related and wanted my opinion about it. I looked around on line and found that the $1,000 price tag + $50 for shipping was grossly overpriced and the reviews weren't favorable. I was also disgusted that it used this Linux-based operating system designed for the elderly. I explained to him that it wasn't a wise decision to spend $1,000 on a computer that had outdated hardware and compared the software to a 1985 Yugo. He understood what I was saying and asked me to find him a better computer. He was willing to spend at most $1,100 and included that he really wanted to have a touchscreen. He's been fascinated with my iPhone and iPad for years, but he's not a fan of the small form factor for everyday use. I came across this all-in-one, and although I haven't bought a prebuilt computer in over 9 years (I build my own for obvious reasons) I felt that this Gateway was actually perfect for him. As he has gotten older, his eye sight has decreased, so he was thrilled to see a 23" monitor and hasn't stopped playing with the touchscreen. He only needs a computer for mail and Word. Having just those two tiles on the Windows 8 start screen makes it more fool-proof than the Wow computer. I should add, although it doesn't affect the quality or performance of the computer, I ordered it for him on a Wednesday and had it in his living room the next day (3-day shipping selected) He was probably more happy that it came from New Jersey to Massachusetts in under 24-hours than he was with anything else. The price is perfect, $800 with just a few bucks for shipping. The display is gorgeous and the touchscreen is of the same quality as an iPhone or iPad, the system is fairly quiet (only a little noisy during the usual 100% fan boost during startup), the specs (for the price) aren't horrible, though if I could have built a computer for him I'm sure that I could have done better. Overall, it's a great system and restored my faith in buying a prebuilt. The bloatware wasn't too horrible and it was simple enough to remove before it bothered him. Overall, I think it's a great computer for anyone, especially the older folks looking for a nice big display and easy navigation/setup.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a computer that's easy to use (either for older parents or grandparents) honestly, I think this is such a better choice than the Wow computer or most computers that are gauged towards the elderly. Windows 8 is only complicated if you let it be. After I removed all but the Mail and Word tiles from the start page, he was all set and has been happy with it since.
