5 out of 5 eggswell used

Pros: I have had this for about 3 yrs now and so I feel that I can offer a reasonably informed review. I have looked into upgrading or getting a new computer but this thing is still highly respectable. I am looking at a VelociRaptor 10000 hd but everything else is still great. Power supply is plenty for me. Graphics card still hard to beat. Processor is stock 2.66 GHz but plenty fast. Came with plenty of fans so I saved the ones I bought and later used one to replace one that became noisy. Just recently upgraded my RAM to 10 Mb. On a typical day, I am simultaneously running AutoCAD, 8-10 open files, two video outs (one output to tv to watch movies), Skype and QQ video and chat, IE with several open pages and possibly Minecraft...never a problem (see below). I have written this review to let the manufacturer know that they have produced an excellent product and I will likely buy from them when the time comes to catch up. I do some gaming (terrible vice) and can run at any resolution I desire.

Cons: None, really. The DVD drive was unplugged, had to reinstall my front sound ports, had to reallocate my hard drive space; just simple things. Fan LEDs were pretty but cut the wires to the lights after one day (you could almost light your room with them). Not really a con but my processor got to ~45 and my VC would go to ~85 when using both video outputs. I cleaned my heatsinks and fans (not too dirty, I was surprised) and used Arctic MX-4 and now the cores never go past 30 (usually 25) and my VC stays just below 70 with both ouputs (<50 with single), even with all my applications running.

Other Thoughts: Thanks, iBUYPOWER. You have demonstrated to me that you know how to build a useful computer that really needs no tweaking and have earned a customer's respect.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Best bang for your buck! Mine was well put together, this thing is fast. Only had for about a week but so far I am very pleased with what I got for my money. I liked the packing of the PC, the inside foam/bag was a good idea.

Cons: Mouse has something rattling around inside it, but it still works fine. Foam/Bag packing inside caused the DVD and HD to become disconnected. But this was very minor and I always check all connections before appling power.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Really good specs on paper, FAST shipping from NewEgg (I got it the next day!), relatively low setup, no bloatware.

Cons: Ran the system for 3 hours before a blue screen came up. The computer began rebooting into Windows, blue screening immediately, and rebooting immediately- over and over again. I reinstalled Vista (after 2 blue screens during installation) and after a little bit it started blue screening again. I RMAed it (they wanted me to pay for shipping, but I talked to their RMA manager and they comped my shipping because it was basically DOA) and now I'm waiting for results. RMA has been painless but I'm anxious to see results. They got it last week and it's been 7 days before they began diagnostics.

Other Thoughts: When something doesn't work out of the box it's soo disappointing. I was mentally prepared for an RMA, luckily. If you get a good one, it'll be worth it.

I'll update this review once it comes back from the shop.

1 out of 5 eggsMany problems

Pros: Very high specs on paper, when they work.

Cons: This machine was shipped to me and when it arrived there were several cords disconnected due to the tight wiring of the machine.

After fixing the wiring problems and installing my new fans due to the massive amount of heat the machine gives off, the computer then shut down and would not boot back up. I was told it was a problem with the mother board and would have to send it in for repairs.

After spending $60 to ship the machine back to Ibuypower and waiting 3 weeks, my machine arrived back at home. I anxiously booted the computer up to find that the same exact problem existed, even after replugging the disconnected wires.

Calling the company today, they're making me send the computer back to California which takes 3 to 4 days, wait 5-10 business days on the repairs, then 3 more days for them to send it back again. My hopes aren't very high that it will be fixed when it returns.

Other Thoughts: The warranty on the computer through Newegg only allows for a 30 day return. By the time I had finally decided I want to return it to Newegg after not being repaired, it was too late to return and am stuck with the computer now and have to hope that the company will fix the problem.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I am planning to purchase this computer, but it is always out of stock! Come on Newegg! Order like 50 of these, they go fast!

Cons: From reading many of the reviews, I am going to purchase an extra fan or two, since I am going to overclock.

Other Thoughts: Can't find a better deal.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply Great Computer!!

Pros: The perfect, basic, power graphics system at the best price available. I'm not a gamer, but run power graphics programs such as CorelDraw, Photoshop, etc., plus do some video editing. I needed something to handle these all open at the same time, without hiccupping. Am saving hours of time in not waiting for loading, processing, etc. Worked right out of the box just perfectly (after removing packing material). No problems with any cables needing to be hooked up. FANS: This came loaded with a rear and side fan, already installed, contrary to earlier reviews. Because of reviews, I purchased extra fans that were not needed, after all. IBuyPower must be reading these posts! Way to go, people!

Cons: One very minor complaint: my system's CD/DVD unit, that came with it, is an LG brand. I personally dislike LG because of being burned by an LG fridge that died after 17 months and their service is just terrible. The speed of CD reading seems slow and boggy to me, too. However, this is minor and I plan to purchase a good quality Blue Ray capable drive in the near future to add on, so I won't have to worry about the LG unit. As I understand it, IBuyPower does not always put the same components in this unit, so you may or may not get one of these. Also, many people swear by LG (not having had a bad experience - yet!)

Other Thoughts: I spent over a hundred hours shopping for my perfect computer online during early August '09. I knew I wanted one of the newest Nvidia cards. I shopped all the major online computer retailers, including build-your-own, and the equivalent of this machine, anywhere else, would have cost $200 to $1000. more!

Had absolutely no issues with preloaded Vista, and this was my first go with it. Had no problems moving from old XP machine by transfering settings via transfer cable. Yes, Vista has a few little quirks, but I've been dealing with MS OS based computers since DOS and always recognize the major improvements, which outweigh the bugs, for me, at least.

Had a bit of a scare when I ran out of hard disk space on a 1 Terabyte drive! Was overjoyed when I learned you can now allocate HD space on the fly in Vista! IOW, this machine comes with enough space on the HD allocated for OS, but it's up to you to configure the rest of it yourself!

5 out of 5 eggsgreat rig!

Pros: Bargain priced but top notch components.
Best bang for your buck.
Runs any game I have played flawlessly on max settings.

Cons: Wish it came with a SLI capable MB, but you have to make some concessions I guess.
Runs pretty hot. I bought mine before they included the extra stock fans.

Other Thoughts: Great rig for a mid-range price tag. Totally worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Buy!

Pros: Run's Wow at full settings with stuff going on in the background like a DREAM! I get 60fps in high population areas and 30+ FPS in raids with everyone blowing their spell effects. WOW I have never seen the game look so good.

Picked up 2 120mm fans per suggestions in previous reviews and was able to install them no problem, so far it's running like a dream. Got a 23 inch HD monitor and just I am a happy camper. Had the computer in my hands within 3 days of ordering.

Cons: Cheapish box & keyboard. Otherwise it's an excellent buy. Have a small issue getting the display to fit inside the screen, for some bizzarre reason when i set it to what the monitor suggests part of the image is still offscreen and short of downgrading the display settings (Which sucks) I have it set for a small amount off the edge and just go from there

Other Thoughts: Well worht the money, i'll probably pop back in after I've had it a month or two and see how I feel about it, but so far I love this computer, definitly worth the money

1 out of 5 eggsSave potencial headaches.

Pros: Good price for an i7, average performance, good video card.

Cons: Cheap RAM memory. After a month started to show the blue screen and the message of "Dumping physical memory" half of the time I restart or turn on. Run it with XP Professional 64 Bits and the speed is not impressive at all. My old Dell Pentium 4 run as fast and perform better with an XP uE.

Other Thoughts: Be ready for a return. If you are willing to take it back and forward till you find a good one, go ahead and buy it but if you can afford it, buy something of a higher quality and you'll save potential headaches.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Build

Pros: Computer arrived in perfect shape. Everything was well packed and protected. It would have been fine for plug & play but I added some parts (card reader, usb port card, and fans) to the computer. Will add new heat sink as well next week to overclock.

Cons: One system fan appears to be defective. I bought two extras so it was easy to swap. No other negatives so far.

Other Thoughts: Intel Core i7 920
MSI x58 Pro-E motherboard - appears to be SLI compatible
MSI N285GTX Nvidia Superpipe Series graphics card
A-Data HY63I1B16 6GB DIMM DDR3 1333 RAM
Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 ATA Device - 1TB
TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223L (Samsung)
