How does the liquid cooling work in this? Also does it come ready to plug in, or do you have to set it up and insert the coolant?

It works great. I bought the computer to be able to play DA:I and it's fantastic (I've been playing on ULTRA and the game-play is very smooth). It came ready to plug in, I didn't have to set anything up. I would definitely recommend this computer.

No BILL K its not windows 7. its comes with windows 8 but you do actually get the drivers and restore disk.  As far the computer goes it is the best MONEY FOR THE PRODUCT for intel. CHECK OUT cpu benchmark online (just search for on google) it will tell you where it ranges on the scale.  you can also run a performance test that my computer blew out of the water for the price... DO NOT overclock this machine if you want it to last you a while but i have been very happy with it!

How hot does this get on average? I can't tell how many fans it has.

I don't have a thermometer on it, Can't tell you how hot it runs. But I can tell you that it has 2 fans in the front and 2 in the back. The cpu is water cooled, and of course the Vid card has a fan. I play video games for long stretches and nothing seems to be affected. This Rig can handle anything that i have thrown at it. There are 2 spaces on the top of the case that you could add additional fans. The keyboard and mouse are not great quality but everything else is KILLER. Just my .02 cents.

Question 4

Recently got a new desk. It has a spot for a computer, and I removed the door and the back so it vents well. I measured it too and the computer has around one inch or two on both sides and like 6 above of free space, is this ok for this computer, or should I just sit it on top of the desk for better air flow?

I have mine in a desk enclosure and it works fine, even when running games for awhile.
This tower vents out the front, rear, and top.  The fans are quiet and work well, so I anticipate your desk should work fine too.   It really comes down to what you're running.
I suggest when you get it, stress test it by running through graphically intense software or games that you plan to run regularly.  While doing that, run the built in motherboard and GPU utility software that comes with the rig to check the temperatures over an hour or so.  If it doesn't budge, then you've got good ventilation and should be fine.  
This is a great gaming rig, and I imagine if you're using graphic processing software it will work well for you also.  It's SO quiet!

Can more RAM and extra hard drives be added to this computer?

really no need to add more RAM 16GB is plenty for normal computing.

Plenty of HDD space available. Could hold 11 more full size drives.

This is a very speedy and very quite system!

Yes, it's going to be a little tight but there is room. (assuming it's not a PCI express which I don't believe hey even make 980s with express slots)

Can you turn off any of the LED lights in the case or front fans? 
If not, can you unplug whatever they are plugged into to keep them off? 
I would be running this pc on my desk and I don't want bright light in my face while using it.

Hey Kenneth, they are built into the fans, so you would probably have to buy new fans to not have the lights.  I haven't opened it to check it out, but that's what seems to be the case from what i can see.
However, they are not as bright as they appear in the picture but if you are worried about the front lights at all, i would probably purchase something else.

Is this a quad or a 6 core processor? The information lists 6 in the quick info but then says 4 on the cpu

It's a hyper-threading 6 core processor. The hyper-threading part is important because it essentially doubles the capacity of the OS to address the processor. It's not really like having 12 cores, but the OS sees it that way.

What hyper-threading does:

"For each processor core that is physically present, the operating system addresses two virtual or logical cores, and shares the workload between them when possible. The main function of hyper-threading is to increase the number of independent instructions in the pipeline; it takes advantage of superscalar architecture, in which multiple instructions operate on separate data in parallel. With HTT, one physical core appears as two processors to the operating system, which can use each core to schedule two processes at once. In addition, two or more processes can use the same resources: if resources for one process are not available, then another process can continue if its resources are available."

Add this to the fact that the processor is addressing DDR4 memory... your light years ahead of what any DDR3 system can offer you.

With this being said, video games only address two or four threads - depending on the game. The hyper-threading processor will help you because it is running the OS and background services more efficiently. But you may take a hit in performance due to the fact that hyper-threading has its own overhead cost on the processor, but the game does not benefit from use of the extra logical cores.

However it matters not, because this thing is a beast with the 980GTX video card, which offloads most of what the processor needs to take care of graphically and regarding in-game physics.

There will not be a video game that comes out, for quite a while, that this machine will not be able to run on max settings.
