3 out of 5 eggsWindows 8.1 Product Key Not Included

Pros: It is nicely designed, and has so far worked great, other than my one issue.

Cons: The windows 8.1 would not activate. Windows kept saying that the license had been maxed out, therefore I could not do pretty much anything without it saying i needed to activate windows. I tried to activate windows multiple times different ways and nothing worked so I called Microsoft and they told me I had a bad product key.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issue you are having with the computer. The version of windows is running on a time base trial, but this can be fully activated by using the Windows product key number, located on the right side of the computer. Once you have enter the 25 digit code, your version of windows will become a genuine copy. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at our technical support line at 888/937-5582 or you can reach us via email at cyber_tech2@cyberpowerpc.com

5 out of 5 eggsLast of the 2166s?

Pros: Has an awesome motherboard, MSI 970A-G43. This demonstrates that CyberPower and Newegg did listen to their customers concerns regarding compatibility issues with the original motherboard in the product.

Cons: Very noisy as other customers have commented. Bios adjustment and a sound suppression enclosure are needed.
Power supply is only 350 watts, which will not accommodate future expansion.. I purchased a 650 watt replacement during Black Friday which I will install after the PC has burned in.

Other Thoughts: I believe that I received one of the last few model 2166s. I was elated to find that CyberPower had already upgraded the MOBO, and did an excellent job of picking a replacement.. I had planned on doing this myself. The upgrade made this PC an awesome gaming machine and a great value to the customer. Well done.

-Great for children

Cons: -Doesn't come ready to go out of the box because reasons

Other Thoughts: Will definitely be buying another one.

1 out of 5 eggsNot even 2 eggs.

Pros: Clean build, that's about it. All the parts were where they were supposed to be, and the wiring was put where it should be.

Cons: When I received it, the video card didn't work. Luckily I had an old 470GTX lying around that I could use - but If I paid almost 900.00 for this - shouldn't it work? Also, shouldn't there be higher quality parts? I bought this for my fiance so she didn't have to put it together. For almost 900 I could have built two of these. The case is poor quality as are the mouse and keyboard. Just cheap.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this. I'm not even going to attempt to try and get my money back, or go through the hassle of sending parts or whatever. If I was a kid on Christmas and I got this, my day would have been ruined.

3 out of 5 eggsA good start computer

Pros: This computer runs fast and smooth it never runs down it assent ever crashed for me it came in great condition its a good starter computer it can play most of all the games out today.

Cons: The computer comes with a power supple that is to small the fans have no cap on there limit so the computer all ways really loud and obnoxious. the wiring is limiting you cant upgrade unless you change everything or you will crash no matter what because the power supply is to small. I would only buy this if you don't care about noise because it is all ways loud.

Other Thoughts: This computer is truly for new people if they are getting a new computer and they don't care about noise.

3 out of 5 eggsLOUD

Pros: This PC is great as far as power and functionality, I have had no problems performance-wise with it.

Cons: Two things really... 1. It's loud. SUPER LOUD. I read a review earlier to turn on the Cool and Quiet feature, which I did (it was already set to auto, I just set it to enabled) and it made zero bit of difference. I bought this because I also read another review that stated it wasnt that loud... man was that person wrong.

2. The case rattles. I'm sure its some loose case screws somewhere, I just havent took the time to find them.

Other Thoughts: I've been thinking about a way to disable some case fans to help with noise, but I think the culprit is the CPU fan. A fix would be to buy another, more quiet fan, and install it... but I shouldn't have to do that.
If I want it to quiet down, I'll need to.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have several of these cyberpowers and have been happy with their performance. I use them for a small business believe it or not. The reason I bought these is because of the case. If a power supply burns up or a graphic card, you can replace it yourself in 5 seconds due to the nice universal and roomy case. That is why I won't buy "brand" computers because they all have unique cases that you can't fit 3rd party parts into.

Cons: The CPU fan is the loudest fan I have ever heard in my 40 years of owning PC's. I did the BIOS adjustment suggested in the first review however it had no effect on the Fan. This is my 5th cyberpower and the only problem I have had is that one would not go to sleep, one power supply went up and this one sounds like a 747. The good news is that it takes 2 seconds to change out something because the case is very user friendly.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat gaming PC for the price!

Pros: The value. I typically do a DIY setup, but with the components provided, you really can't be the price. It will perform well with most games at settings set to high. Even for a non-gamer, great components for a machine that will last you a while, performance-wise.

Cons: Based on the other reviews, the fans are loud like a jet plane, but there is a fix to this.

The Cool and Quiet feature is not enabled for the CPU fan. You will need to go into the BIOS. To do this, you will need to hit the Delete key right after you hit the power button. It's okay to hit this continuously until you see a blue screen with a menu. From there, you will get to the 'cell menu' and that's where you will find Cool n Quiet disabled. Enable it, Save and Exit.

You should notice a huge difference with the fan noise. No more jet plane!

It's a little disappointing that this issue can easily be resolved with a little QA on the manufacturer's part, but it's not something you can't fix.

One other thought, the Power supply and motherboard leaves little room for expandability, but the components are good enough to where this isn't necessary, but it's good to have the option.

Other Thoughts: Overall, aside from the fan issue, this is a great machine and I do recommend it.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very fast and very good graphics for what i use it for.

Cons: Low power supply. 350W is kinda low for this computer. Fans are extremely noisy even when idle. Like a jet taking off lol

Other Thoughts: Power supply low Fans are loud! Need to get a bigger psu. Not too sure what i should do with the loud fans. Other than those two things it is a very nice computer for the money. Possibly going to buy another for my daughter if i can get those couple issues solved.

3 out of 5 eggsPowerful machine but may eventually catch fire?

Pros: Excellent specs for the price. Powerful machine, lots of storage.

Cons: Included hardware seems to be incompatible. Vague information about the motherboard on the webpage. As it turns out, the motherboard does not support 125W processors, though Newegg has included it with a 125W processor. I have contacted Newegg about this and will paste my message to them below. So far they have not addressed this concern despite the fact that several customers have raised concerns about this motherboard & PSU combination.

Other Thoughts: I recently purchased a CyberpowerPC Ultra Gamer 2166 PC from your website. I had a few reservations about the product such as the 350W power supply and the lack of information about the type of motherboard contained within the machine. The "Motherboard" section under the details of the product simply listed the chipset as AMD 760G (I have a screenshot of this, if you'd like I can email it), information which seems very vague (something not typical of what I've come to expect from Newegg).

This led me to do some research into the machine's motherboard. On the page for the MSI 760GM-P34 (FX) AM3+ AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - the motherboard included in the CyberpowerPC Ultra Gamer 2166 - I found an admission by the manufacturer that 125W processors are not supported by this motherboard (I have a screenshot of this as well). Unfortunately, my CyberpowerPC Ultra Gamer 2166 machine shipped with this motherboard and an AMD FX-8350 processor installed. This processor is a 125W processor, which by the admission of MSI, is not supported by the motherboard it came attached to.

I would like to know why Newegg is currently selling this motherboard and CPU combination, as it is clearly not safe nor sustainable for long term use. Many customers have raised concerns about the Ultra Gamer 2166 PC on its webpage and yet Newegg has not made any effort to respond to the concerns. I would also like to know how Newegg intends to resolve this issue or compensate customers for the misleading information and potential hazards involved.

I have recently enjoyed doing business with Newegg, as my account history suggests. I wish to continue to enjoy the services that your establishment provides and to recommend Newegg to my family and friends. I appreciate your understanding in this matter. My user review of the product in question and Newegg's customer service is pending your response. Thank you.
