Question 1

Is this computer good enough to play next gen games like GTA V, Far Cry 4, Elder Scrolls Online, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, etc on Med or High settings?

You would be better off looking for a pc that has a graphics card with 4GB of Vram and a cpu that is at least 4.0 Ghz. There is no possibility of SLI with this system as the Motherboard is Micro ATX (super small).

With this system you will have better game performance at Low to Medium settings both the graphics card and the cpu are not meant to run all new games at high settings.

So, some of the new games coming out are not as resource demanding as others. The games you mentioned Far Cry 4, GTA V - only on Low to Medium settings (I recommend adjusting the individual settings to see what will work best for you and what you are willing to tolerate as far as framerate drops).

I hope this helps you in your decision about buying this machine - if you have the budget to get a stronger system then that is what I recommend.

does this machine have a good cooling system?

This computer's case is set up for Positive Air Pressure. In this case, it has two fans in the front as intake and one fan in the back as exhaust. This case is well ventilated and has room for expansion for better cooling, (i.e. water cooling the cpu, etc).

As it comes, the cpu is cooled using the heat-sink and fan method. This method has worked just fine as it is. Since the cpu is not a K, it is not designed for overclocking and it has decent speed for my wife's intended use for it.

Positive Air Pressure does two things: it helps to keep the system cool by taking in more air than it exhausts and because of that it helps to mitigate dust build up inside the system itself - which helps everything work better.

It is my personal opinion that Positive Air Pressure is the best method of air cooling a system for the aforementioned reasons and it is the way I have my own pc setup.

What brand video card comes with this?

It's MSI's base GTX 960 edition graphics card. It's worked really well on Ultra Tomb Raider and Ultra COD Advanced Warfare for me. No fancy cooling system or pre-OCing but it comes with MSI afterburner for OCing. My personal OC setting haven't wielded much in-game graphics improvements. However, it is still a solid card as is for now and into the future. The GTX maxwell system is crazy silent and cool at full speed even without special cooling systems. I personally couldn't find a system with this card for a better price, possibly even if I built it myself.

Does the PC have built in wireless or do i have to buy a wireless adapter?

It does not have a built in wireless card and I would suggest getting a keyboard the one that came with it didn't work from day on I don't know if I got a bad one or not

Why should I pay more for this than the Windows 8 version.  Can't I just get an upgrade to 10 free?  Also, can I use my 3 or 4 year old Acer monitor with this or is a newer kind of monitor necessary?

Hi Nancy I own this computer since 1 week ago.

It came with Windows 8.1 and a free update to windows 10.

If your monitor have a dvi or hdmi port.. you can use it.

Would this be able to run the sims 3 on high?

I don't play Sims 3, but can run Final Fantasy XIV and World of Warcraft on highest settings with no problems at all. I'm getting around 60 fps on FFXIV and 85-90 fps on WoW. I'm very happy with this pc for my games. Great pc for the price.

Which case is the one actually shipped? The cooler master or the cyberpower pc case seen in the overview picture on newegg?

It is the Cyberpower PC case that I received. It is NOT the Cooler Master case. I don't really understand why they mistakenly picture it here and have not corrected it yet. I bought this PC for my wife back in February and the picture was the same then.

I will say that the Cyberpower PC case is good and the fans do have the red led lights.

Is the a wireless adapter to this pc?

No there is not a built in one. I installed an Edimax USB Wifi adapter for this computer for my wife and it works really well.

You can run it on the highest settings possible at 250 and up fps, I play CS:GO on it and it's great!
