1 out of 5 eggsneeded fixing

Pros: Learned to avoid HP

Cons: Did not work, system BIOS corrupted. Replaced motherboard, Case was in really bad shape.Glued parts of the front bezel back on. Painted parts of the nside and outside with silver paint.

Other Thoughts: If I could, I would have rated this zero eggs.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat PC if you are still on dial-up

Pros: This machine is great for those who still live in the early 2000's. Bought this machine to play Frogger and Leisure Suit Larry. Runs like a charm!!

Cons: Not really any.

1 out of 5 eggsHard drive failed in 24 hrs

Pros: Was easy to install new hard drive

Cons: I got this computer for a christmas present and opened it to get it all set up and updates done. After all the updates were done I restarted the machine and it worked fine. I went to turn it on the next day and the hard drive had failed. I couldnt get it to read or reinstall windows. Since this was a christmas present and this all happened on christmas eve i had to go get a new hard drive and install then spend the half of christmas locating and installing drivers.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware

Pros: Cheap and comes with a copy of Windows XP Pro.

Cons: Where do I start. This is a horribly refurbished PC. The parts were severly worn, especially the faceplate. It did not come with 1GB of RAM, it came with 768MB. The DVD-ROM drive is very old, when the computer starts it sounds like a hairdryer, even with no disk in the drive. And the worst part, and completely unmentioned in the description, is that it is sealed, and they put a sticker on it voiding the warranty if opened. They do not have the right to seal a box and void the warranty if opened. This is unethical and more than likely they are trying to cover something up like blown or bad caps. I did not buy a system like this expecting to leave the RAM at 768MB. I was going to bring it up to 2GB, but with the way they sealed the box that is not possible. I also cannot add expansion to any of the PCI slots, or swap the disk drive. I think New Egg should seriously watch who they are doing business with and how those companies conduct business.

Other Thoughts: If this was not for a client and in a time crunch I would have returned this shopped a different model. It is an cheap $89 PC, but you definitely get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsHP Desktop with XP

Pros: Very nice machine for the price. Has a new install of XP Pro. Bought this for my elderly mother who uses it only for AOL and emails to the grandkids, etc. Her old computer was a Compaq Windows 95 desktop that I bought for $20 from my employer when they upgraded equipment about 10 years ago. So this was a nice upgrade for her.

Cons: Case was a little beat up and looks to have been repainted. But for the price, and since I installed it on the floor under her desk, not an issue.

Other Thoughts: Great value for someone who needs a basic computer for internet surfing, email, word processing, etc.

1 out of 5 eggsHD Died

Pros: Hard drive died within 3 week. Not worth shipping back at this time due to problems out east. Have to ship entire PC back at my expense just to replace HD. Cheaper just to replace drive myself. Watch out these units have SATA drives which Win XP will not see.

Cons: See above

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT

Pros: Really works boot, no issues, mine had a 80G disk, not 40G as in 15 sec, connects to net fast and fast serfing...I bought 1, right before sandy hit and the unit ships from NJ ! was stuck there a few days as UPS was unable to ship without power...NEWEGG, without me asking, changed my shipping to ups air, at their expense, to get it to me faster...Now that's Customer Serivce !!! Shows newegg Really cares about us ...This pc works 100% well...

Cons: If you want to add something inside , like a 2nd disk...good space can upgrade RAM to 4 G...mine works well with lagging...

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It makes a good office computer if you leave it on all the time and just use it for Office Word and Internet.

Cons: It has a long start-up, but not really anything to fret about.

Other Thoughts: Currently using it for spare parts - The RAM cards that mine had in it (a total of 2GB) is strewn through multiple computers.

4 out of 5 eggsA Decent Desktop

Pros: A decent Desktop for the money. Arrived well packed and in good shape. Only comes with the power cord. NO KEYBOARD. During first time power-up you will need to enter the COA license to get WINXP to load. XP has SP3. It also came with a 80gb hard drive instead of the 40gb. Had to adjust monitor resolution through the INTEL GMA Settings. Sound quality is good. Meets my needs. Haven't been able to play a DVD yet. WM could not play them.

Cons: Important information sheet included with this unit was for a laptop not a desktop. The HD had a loud bearing noise at power-up. Was concerned but it resolved itself after being on for a hour. No noise since.

Other Thoughts: Newegg continues to provide good product and service. Ordered this computer on Monday 10/08/12 and it arrived on 10/10/12. Price was also $10 lower and with free shipping.
