Does this computer have wireless internet connection or would I have to buy a dongle/wifi card? I can't use an ethernet cable.

Everything is already prebuilt. It's simply a custom tower with brand name parts assembled together. Instead of everything being from one company, it's a hodge podge.

Not that that's a bad thing at all, kind of like taking the best of everything and sticking it into one machine. No assembly required, just plug in the cables and go.

Question 3

Does this come with Win 7 or Win 8?

It comes with Windows 8. If you choose to buy it, absolutely make sure it is correctly hooked up to the TV via the video card. It will make the first time boot-up smoother.

If you are worried about the lack of a start button in Window 8, Iobit has a free program called "Start Menu for Windows 8".

Mine didn't come with a power cable. Is it just me?

Mine did come with power cable, mouse and keyboard.  Did you buy used or refurbished? not sure if newegg sells used.  My bf and i have been ordering off newegg for 8 years, love it

Question 5

Would I need to buy a DVI or VGA monitor with this? Should I consider buying an extra fan to install if I play no longer than maybe an hour and a half? From the reviews it seems the hard drive comes loose. Anyway to keep it secure?

DVI, HDMI, or Display port is what it available on the video card, so the better choice would be a monitor with Display port support, or HDMI, and DVI as a last choice.

My son plays games on his for long periods, we found it does not necessarily need an extra fan, if you close off the place for a fan that is in front of  the power supply that allowed air to vent out the bottom of the case.

With that fan attachment point closed off (we used shipping tape) the air that is pumped in from the front intake fan is forced up through the case and the temps on the system always stay in a safe range.

The hard drive is securely attached with screws in my son's machine, I suspect given others experience you might want to inspect them for tightness, not likely to come loose in normal operation, but theres always loctite or the fingernail polish trick.

On a side note we got ours in August and the CPU fan is now failing, when we opened up the case for inspection we discovered the motherboard is NOT SATA III, it is only SATA II so the specifications are misleading, also the front fan is not connected to the motherboard fan header so it cannot be monitored by software, it would need an extension cable, it comes attached to a power supply drive connector.

After about a month or two, a loud vibrating noise began to come from the case upon startup or coming back from sleep mode. It only lasts a minute, but is abnormal (and very loud).
Has anyone else experienced this and, if so, what did you do to fix it?

I've not experienced this myself, but it might be one of the parts inside your case has become loose and is rattling upon starting up. If you haven't already, I'd start your case up while looking inside of it at the same time. If that doesn't work, try turning it off and opening the case up, checking to see if anything is in fact loose within.

How long can I feel safe knowing that this computer can run without something going wrong?

great pc after all the drivers were installed the fans are a little loud but I also have two extra case fans installed as I live in a smoking house. the graphics card isn't amd its msi... really not happy about that but it equals out to the 7770 they have listed. and the motherboard only has two ram slots as the amd and avatar sites both list the next step up motherboard. cant complain for the price per performance thou

note to buyer research the new egg specs and not the avatar specs although the avatar sites listing is betr for only 30 more bucks

I notice this one does not list any audio aspects to the computer in the specs. Assuming that its just standard audio then ?

The motherboard has built in High Definition Audio. I listen to music, watch YouTube videos, and talk on team speak 3 voice chat while playing World of Warcraft. I am very happy with the audio quality!

Does this computer need to be hooked up to the enternet or can it go whireless too?

If you're using a wired connection, you will connect just fine, but if you plan to use a wireless connection, you're going to need a wireless LAN adapter, because this computer doesn't have built-in Wi-fi.  I found out the hard way.  I should've looked when I was shopping, but I assumed most computers nowadays have built in Wi-fi.
