Does the OS run from the SSD?

Yes. It is set up by default with the OS (Windows 10) installed on the SSD. The 2GB drive is set up as a data drive that you can (and should) direct most of your files to.

Does the PC come already loaded with all the drivers for the hardware?

yes. If there are any updates available, you can get them from the manufacturer drivers download section  and also some drivers could come from  windows updates.

Question 3

Would I be able to upgrade the GTX 960 card that comes with the PC to a GTX 970 to boost game performance? Meaning, would a GTX 970 fit in the PC?

Matt S: Last March I purchased this unit and was really impressed with the awesome power of this remarkable machine. Immediately, I did two things. One, I upgraded the memory by adding another 16 GB of DDR4 for a total of 32 GB. In all honesty, I could not see any improvement in the speed of the unit after the upgrade but still pleased with the new memory. Second, I upgraded the GTX 960 2GB (short card) to the GTX 960 4GB (long card). I am not a big time gamer but do enjoy a few treks now and then with Battlefront and a few others. Also, I do a lot of graphics with files measured in GBs that take a lot of computing power and graphics card workout. I did notice a big difference with refresh rate on my 50" Samsung 4K UHD TV/monitor and am very pleased with my setup. So, my answer to your question is "yes," you most certainly can upgrade to the GTX 970 card. I think you will be very happy with this unit.

What exactly is this going to run?  Will it run Ark in full?

I find it basically runs any game that is out right now. The DDR4 and the graphics card are sufficient enough to do basically anything. Make sure you get a monitor that has enough Hertz to see the difference. If you think it will take more performance to run something like ARK, make sure you install it on the Solid State.

Does this computer have liquid CPU cooling like some of the other higher end Envys, or does it have air CPU cooling?

This PC doesn't have cooling other than fans. A couple levels up offer it as an option.

Would a GTX 1070 card fit in this case?

Shouldnt be a problem since the stock GPU is also a 2-slot design, and the case is a full size case with lots of room for expansion.
