1 out of 5 eggsLG service is abysmal

Pros: It's flat. Has numerous aspect ratio controls.

Cons: Green dither on steroids. Horrendous service on the part of LG.

Other Thoughts: Soon after receiving this plasma I became bothered by thousands of dancing green dots in darker parts of the picture. Turns out this is 'dithering' and common to all plasma, but very bad with LG's. Once you see it, you cannot NOT see it.

Doing my research I discovered that some simple voltage adjustments can alleviate much of the problem, but that it needs to be handled by a qualified technician.

Long story short, multiple visits and they replaced the entire LCD panel, which I knew would not solve the issue and it didn't. Worse, the LCD panel was defective, causing a big fat white stripe to appear vertically on the picture.

LG then said, "Sorry, we won't fix it or replace it. We will just give you your money back. After you ship the TV to us."

At MY EXPENSE! I refused. Finally they agreed to pay for shipping, giving me a box so inadequate for the job I forced them to fax me a statement saying I'm not responsible for the damage. I'm still waiting for my check.

4 out of 5 eggsNice clean, Good picture

Pros: Great price, Great picture, clean looking. Works exactly as we expected. Bought it for being the flagship TV of LG. Didn't really care about the smart features or 3D. That may change when we watch a 3D movie on this TV soon.

Cons: Black filter is barely better for anti-glare than my other 50" LG this is replacing. Internet features are useless except netflix feature. The second remote we never touch anymore after the novelty wore off. Yet to use the 3D option

Other Thoughts: Overall a great TV, should hold me over for at least five years.

4 out of 5 eggsAn awesome television

Pros: The screen is huge. It looks bigger than I expected it to be. The color is very rich, and the blacks get darker than my other LCD television. The smart apps are amazing, and the Netflix app works just like the one on PS3. I enjoy being able to pause my game on my PS3, and open up Netflix on the television, that way I don't lose my place in game. The pointer remote is kind of funky, as in you don't even have to point at the screen, but aside from the the remote makes navigating simpler. The 3d is amazing, and the 2d-3d conversion works better than I expected it to.

Cons: Doesn't come with 3d glasses unfortunately. As far as glare goes, you literally HAVE to try and find it in order to see any unless you're sitting at an angle where you could barely see the screen anyways. Glare isn't an issue, or at least it hasn't been yet. This stays in a well lit room from either sunlight or indoor lights, so I think you'll be fine.

Other Thoughts: Upset that it doesn't come with glasses, but I found some for a good price through a different website. As far as the television goes. Well it's THX certified, has an awesome picture and little to no glare with a deep 3d and an even better pop out 3d. Only gave it 4 eggs because of the glasses, but I would recommend this to anyone looking into getting a 3d television. Also, plasma is better for 3d than LCD or LED.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat HDTV for the price

Pros: The image quality from the cable HD channels is really good, it does extremely much better job than my 72" Mitsubishi HDTV.

I love having my Netflix service on this TV and I think it is a great addition. However (read Cons).

The sound on this LG is really good for regular cable channels, and it is even better if you are watching an HD movie with Doubly support. Also, the sound modes are great depending on the show you are watching.

Cons: The motion remote still needs a lot of improvement. It is really difficult to use when you move the control out of the TV frame range and when going back the pointer on the screen does not adjust itself to the angle of the remote control. I noticed that after more than 5 minutes of use I do not want to keep using the motion remote feature, and instead just go with the regular arrows. However, the LG app for android is the best replacement for the motion remote, I suggest you trying it.

Apps takes some time to load up and this could be frustrating for a lot of people. The Netflix app I feel needs better improvement when skipping from scenes or just forwarding couple of seconds will go more than what you want. Also, the load times for the streaming takes a lot of time even thou my internet connection is 30mbps so this is a real issue with the app itself.

The web browser really sucks, it will take you more tan 5 minutes just to type the address you want, and even moving through the

Other Thoughts: Cons: The last con is the extremely HIGH temperature this TV gets on the less efficient picture mode. If you are going to be using this TV in the summer with no AC in a small environment (room), I recommend you not to use it in that mode because it is going to really rise the room temperature to the point I believe it will break itself.

Overall I believe this HDTV is really good for the price and the size, you will not find something this good for $1,300 despite all the CONS I mentioned. I will do another review on the 3D experience as soon as I am able to get my glaces.

I hope this review helps you and enjoy your new Plasma HDTV!

3 out of 5 eggsProne to Burn-in/Image Retention

Pros: Beautiful picture, very life-like images, and great flesh tones.
Robust web content and Wii like remote for web interactivity is fantastic. No image lagging or blurring. Wide field of view.
3D type picture even without wearing glasses!
Great tuner and processor that makes none HDTV content look great.

Cons: This model is very prone to image retention/burn-in. Other professional reviews have noticed this in the short time they reviewed this model.
If you buy it regardless, get an extended warranty that covers burn-in.
Active 3D glasses are considerably more expensive and fragile.
It is almost theoretically impossible for a flat screen television to have great sound, so buy a 5.1 setup or a sound-bar and sub-woofer to complete any flat screen setup.

Other Thoughts: This set was always on back order locally. I fell in love with this set when I saw a certain big budget 3D movie that featured a race of blue people living in a rain forest on a planet far from earth. It was the first set I have seen that made these characters look realistic while maintaining the 3D-ish effect. If you own a Sammy HDTV with the reflective screen you know what I'm talking about. I was going to buy this set a few weeks later until I saw the same display model at my local electronics store with the yellow and blue tag. However, this time it had a very serious case of burn-in. I asked the techs and they said the DVD player it was hooked up to didn't have anti-image retention features built into it. This TV does have measures to help with image retention, but they are not proactive other than the pixel shift feature. Newer models have sensors to make sure someone is watching or they will shut themselves off.

5 out of 5 eggsNo cons so far

Pros: Works as advertised, however due to a mixup I was not sent the 3-D glasses so I cannot comment on 3-D. While I had the Geeks do the install (I have a Harmony remote that needed their attention), it seemed rather staright forward. Picture seems every bit as good (maybe better) than the 60" Samsung Plasma that it is replaving. I will leave a supplemental review once I have the 3-D capability. Geeks, btw, were their usual great at the install - worth every penny.

Cons: None yet.
