4 out of 5 eggsLG 60" Plasma TV

Pros: This TV was a great buy for the price paid., crystal clear resolution., user freindly interface.., Added bonus is the rotating pivital base that the TV rest on..

Cons: Few if any cons.., I think if I were to try hard to come up with one it would be the internet search feature is a bit slow even with high speed internet connection, however the features that allow you to stream Pandora or movies or wireless media is seamless...

2 out of 5 eggsNot Smart Enough...

Pros: + great picture quality
+ thin profile; sleek
+ 2D to 3D conversion; general 3D quality is good
+ stream from home PC
+ smartphone remote control app

Cons: - very slow user interface
- very slow / poor wifi connection for browsing Internet / streaming Netflix
- apps (YouTube, Internet, games) UNUSABLE due to lack of system memory; constant error messages
- built in speakers poorly balanced with speech often muffled
- connecting Ethernet from modem / router to TV causes looping reboots, forced to use wifi
- gets very hot; fire hazard
- 3D glasses expensive + flimsy; requires charging

Other Thoughts: I am very happy with the picture quality....However, the "smart" features this TV boasts are hardly functional. Navigating the user interface is extremely slow and using any of the apps or the Internet is impossible due to a lack of system memory, or some underlying issue with software or components. Returned first TV due to looping reboot which was caused by to connected Ethernet line (troubleshooted second tv with identical issue).

This TV is being marketed as a Smart TV, but it is hardly that. Comp this TV to non-smart TVs as the only thing you are really getting is the picture quality. Disappointed and looking to switch within the year.

5 out of 5 eggsEggstraordinary!

Pros: My family and I have enjoyed the 2D to 3D feature with digital HGTV and with Blue-ray's, DVD's and PS3 games. The Games on the PS3 that are 3D games are very nice on this large screen. We watched the Hobbit Blue-ray 3D the other night and were mesmerized by the depth of th 3D field. Things don't seem to pop out of the screen like some 3D movies and amusement park attractions, but eve older disney movies are converted to 3D with excellent results, like "Lilo and Stitch" last night. Uncharted 3, Batman Arkum City great. Got this for 999.99 and have a 100.00 mail in rebate that is going in the mail today. Great Value!

Cons: The proccessor seems a bit laggy with the Smart Apps, like You Tube. Haven't found too many cons. This model does not come with the Magic Remote but the TV sure does ask you to calibrate one and pair it. Glad it is compatible but LG could have included it with this model.

Other Thoughts: There is no audio out that I can find, except optical, but I think it might be optical-in.

4 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: Incredibly sharp picture, good sound, full range of adjustments for video/audio/3D/inputs etc. I found a re manufactured magic remote, and got 3 pairs of active shutter glasses at a reasonable price, so it is complete now.
This has a picture that far exceeds anything I have seen in any store I have looked at,, and that is a LOT of them. I bought it because my old DLP is going out, and most of the new stuff didn't look as good as that old Toshiba. Most were not even close. This LG has an amazing picture that can be gotten by a very intuitive and easy setup system. The 3D works well, though it was not a big selling point for me. Take it or leave it, but it might as well work well, and this does that.

Cons: No glasses or magic remote included, no way to hook up a normal sound system to it. Only has a digital laser(??) hookup that doesn't work with my system, or any system I have ever had,.. One star gone for that. The sound is ok, but I miss my Bose system.

Other Thoughts: This is a great TV, and is smarter than I am, though that doesn't take a lot to do. It was selling for under a thousand, and I paid another 110.00 for a Magic remote and glasses, Still a great deal.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty pretty

Pros: This has a crisp display that works well in my dedicated HT space.

Cons: Complete control over ambient light is importent to avoid reflections off the glossy screen.

Other Thoughts: The value for this TV is very high. I judge that it would take another $500-$600 to come close (not match) the image quality of this plasma TV in an LCD/LED.

For the cost conscious in an installation where ambient light can be controlled this is a good option.
For the cost conscious that have a usage profile not likely to burn-in the screen this is a good option.
For the cost conscious where image quality is the second most important parameter this is a good option.

Juggling the price differential between the same image quality in an LCD/LED and a plasma screen with the expected lifetimes likely makes the cost a wash.

That being said, I was able to get a higher quality image at a significantly lower price point that worked well for my application.

5 out of 5 eggsStunning Image

Pros: Great picture--rich blacks and clean, clear whites and pure colors. Black & white films looks equally as stunning with neutral grays!

Cons: So-so sound from TV's speakers, but not an issue with external sound system.

Other Thoughts: Not into 3D, so I can't comment on that. Having calibrated the TV using the Disney WOW Blu-ray disc (Expert--takes more time but worth the effort), I am extraordinarily pleased with this TV. The image quality for the price (and many higher) can't be beat. For me, it's all about the picture, bells and whistles do not impress me., but the images certainly do!

4 out of 5 eggsVery nice TV with some issues...

Pros: Huge Screen, Nice colors, 3D support, lots of apps, WiFi, Ethernet, WiDi, DNLA, Plex compatible, decent sound, decent blacks, lots of calibration options.

Cons: Really Bad dithering and banding, too reflective, no glasses included, expensive glasses, no magic remote included, active shutter glasses required. BURN-IN!!! I thought this was a thing of the past, but there is definetely a lot of 'temporal' burn-in, at least on my TV. Input lag when connecting the TV to a PC is also quite noticeable, so I am not so sure how good it would be for gaming...

The GUI is also a little bit slow, as it is in a lot of even higher end Smart TV's...

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately, there is one issue that is driving me crazy. In my unit, if you look closely (couple inches) at the screen, you can notice a lot of sparkling pixels, most of all on dark parts. Apparently this is somewhat common on plasma TV's. I would appreciate if other users can check their TV's and inform if this issue is present on other units or mine may be defective. Thanks!

5 out of 5 eggslovin it

Pros: Very crisp and clear. Great picture in 2d and 3d.

Cons: Thought I could dual play with this and found out you can't unless you modify the glasses that you have to buy that didn't come with this TV. Glasses cost $50 each so modifying them isn't what I want to do.

Other Thoughts: Glasses are expensive but I love the TV. The picture is perfect and I am so glad I got this TV.

5 out of 5 eggsBest TV for the price.

Pros: The TV is very good, it is a tribute to the old quality Plasmas use to be. It rivals the Panasonics (which are still a tad better visual wise) but the difference in quality for the average consumer would not be noticed.

It has everything I need or want in a TV, size, quality, price, software.

It has good brights and fantastic darks, you can really notice on shows like Star Trek and The Dark Knight. Colors when tuned (easily done by average consumers with the walk through) are wonderful, bright, warm, dark, but all with a natural look, which is very important.

There is not a better TV on the market for the price. LED is junk and fake looking. Plasmas are usually blurry. Though this one is perfect (for the price)

Cons: With lower end plasmas they all come with a glass front. It makes them heavy (80 lbs I think) with a reflective surface. Do not buy a plasma if you are going to use it in a bright room or if you keep light sources or windows on/around.

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolute best buy!

Pros: This TV is incredible! It is huge with a great picture and setup was a snap. The apps are intuitive and fun to use.

Picked this up from newegg off of FeeBay for less than 8 bills with Feebay coupon. Great deal!

Cons: Make sure to turn off Tru Motion - just looks strange.
