5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Kids bedroom heater

Pros: -Silent on low (click heating up and cooling down noise on Med or High common with oil filled)
-Does not dry out the air as bad like portable ceramic heaters
-MUCH safer and totally safe to touch even for young children (even though I recommend keeping all heaters away from them)
-ALL corners are rounded, if by chance a kid tripped and hit their head on it the rounded edges would fair better than some other slim element designs(get the bulkier squarish shaped elements not skinny slim ones like on DeLonghi EW7707CM.

Small footprint and much shorter than other oil filled heaters. Like other oil filled heaters there are two heater elements. Low and Medium. Combine together to run on High. Our furance does not evenly heat both our kids rooms that are right next to eachother. Our open floorplan also requires constant use of the furnance with high monthly energy costs. Cutting back in areas in the budget I decided to focus on running our furnance less and keeping their doors shut more often. I have found these heaters to completely meet my needs for heating their very small rooms. I actually ONLY use the LOW heating element. At full temps on LOW it is not even hot enough to burn yourself if you place your face on it BUT it still maintains their temps all night even down into freezing outdoor temps. I found the best money spent is two heaters, get a oil filled for safer all night heating (especially on LOW) and then get a cheap $25 ceramic heater that works best for instant heat to heat up the room quickly for say after their baths or waking up in the morning. So I run their quick heaters for about 15mins tops to get their room up to temp and simple use my oil filled for maintaining. now without the ceramic it would take a good hour for the room to get up to the ideal 71/72 degrees.

Cons: Specific to all oil filled heaters these types of heaters are slow to get the room up to temps. But with most things you can't cover all the bases with one item, if you can then usually the item is VERY expensive. So the slow heating up of rooms is overlooked by the quiet, safer style of heat. Just buy a cheap ceramic heater like a Lasko to quickly pump some heat into the room and after 15-30mins and the room is up to temp, unplug it and turn on the oil filled which will need maintain that temp even on low settings in smaller rooms. Larger rooms I would be Medium setting would be fine and High setting only for fastest heat.

These heaters are not the best for wanting a toasty bedroom last minute as you jump into the shower. These require you fire it up earlier in the evening or simply use this paired with another noiser fan ceramic heater.

Other Thoughts: If you want quiet safer heating and don't mind a slower warm up of the room then oil filled is perfect. If you want a smaller oil filled heater that has rounded corners and maxes out at 1200watts instead of the common 1500watts then get this model. The low 500watt setting is more than enough to heat up my kids small bedrooms even in the coldest outdoor temps. Worse case I can always turn on Medium switch instead and still have a relatively safe to touch heater with faster heating. Both Low and Med for max heat which is totally unneed unless you are trying to heat up larger areas faster than you should expect.

LAST I cannot recommend the AC outlet LUX brand thermostate enough with this product. I found I kind of had to micro manage the dial on these oil filled heaters. If temps outside stayed static at say 40degrees I could easily keep the dial at 1.5. But if we have a very cold night then I would need to bump it up to 2. So there is a chance my kids would have a colder night if the temps dropped and I wasn't paying attention. With the lux you simply leave whatever heating element switched on, plug it into the LUX and set either a static HOLD temp or programmed temp and no more issue. The LUX device will keep the heater going until the temp is reached. No more micro managing their heaters this winter. Set it and forget it. There is a easy on/off switch on the device that I use during the day. At night, flip the switch and I know there room with hover within 2 degrees of set temps. So WORTH the cost if you want safe heat and to maintain specific temps. Great for babys that you are concerned about, dress them in too many layers and then accidentally set your heater to high and they could get hot and cranky which means less sleep. Set it too cool on accident and risk cranky baby and sniffles the next morning.

Last if you want an oil filled heater for very large rooms get the full size 1500watt models even though I would think running them on medium would still maintain temps in most rooms. For smaller rooms this physically smaller unit takes up less space, uses less watts but still does the job. Sorry for repeating my recommendations through out.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat heater in a Small build

Pros: Size, programmable, cost, solid build, nice rubber chord of good length, heats avg sized rooms very well.

Cons: Strong odor that does not seem to burn off within a few days. I use this heater at work and have it running a few hrs a day on 5-6 (highest setting) on max. I figured after a few days on max settings the odor would burn off. I even placed it one day on max for several hrs just to try to lessen the smell and hasten what i hope will eventually be a "break-in time." Ive owned it now for a month or so and run it probably 12-16 hrs a week in my office. While its less pungeant, it still has the odor. Im hoping it goes away eventually. Other than this, its a great little heater and stylish too.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps a ceramic heater? I havent owned many portable heaters so i dont have much of a comparison.

4 out of 5 eggsDont Count on Rebate

Pros: Compact and easy to handle. Heats like the devil. Quiet and timer function a plus for regular use. Nice long cord.

Cons: Delonghi rebate is a joke when you read the details. Original coupon Required, no repros. That means the pdf from newegg is invalid if you print it. Same with the invoice. Requires Burn in as mentioned so you dont stink up the room with chemical smell on first use.

Other Thoughts: One star off for the rebate rip. Otherwise this is a great heater. Compared to the wall mounted Mica Panel heater, this unit is more effective in heating a room. The panel heater is coming down in the bathroom since it does not put out the volume of hot air this radiator style does. So if you have floor space, this is the way to go.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Heater

Pros: This heater does a nice job of heating up a bathroom in a short period of time if you turn the setting on high. Medium or low does a job as long as you add a about an hour lead time on the timer.

Cons: Price. This unit costs more than a full size unit. Which is why I gave it 4 eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsDelonghi TRN0812T

Pros: I own 4 of these units. I am going to order 2 more. They work great in bathrooms or any room that you want to supplement your central heating system. My country home has a heat pump w/oil forced air furnace. I use one 1 in the area where my well water tank & where my water pipes are. It can be regulated so that a certain temp can be maintained. I use one in this area as insurance in case my oil furnace or heat pump fail. It also has a timer so that it can be set to come on / shut off so you are not heating a room when you are at work or or sleeping. Because some units can tip over I really like the lower height unit. Also the fins on each side have blunted ends. (I had a regular height unit w/narrow fins fall over on my leg- took a year for the bruise to go away.) My boy friend (lives in PA) uses his as his only heat source till Jan & aft Feb. Even w/the cost of elec, the oil & gas co's wonder you are using less energy!

Cons: Can"t think of one!

Other Thoughts: Great Product. You can tell a lot of thought went into designing this product
