4 out of 5 eggsCharcoal filter

Pros: Excellent machine all around.

Cons: Thus far, I only had two issues. The plastic top guiding the beans into the grinder was not working properly. I removed it entirely and everything is working fine since then. Also, I cannot figure out where to buy replacement charcoal filters for this machine.

Other Thoughts: Where do you get your replacement filters from?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Item!

Pros: All features work excellently!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I bought one of these for my parents at Christmas. They love it. Especially the set-it and forget-it function so they awaken to a freshly brewed pot.
Myself, I prefer my French coffee press. It makes all I need. 2 mugs of fresh imported Hawaiian Kona coffee.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Good!

Pros: This the first brewer/grinder I've owned and I am very happy with it.
The grinder has worked perfectly without any modification.
I like strong coffee and this does a good job of allowing you to to adjust to your taste.

Cons: The warmer only stays on for 2 hours and then shuts off. I like to have hot coffee available longer than that. I have to resort to warming my last cup or 2 in the microwave. My old brewer would stay on for 4 hours.
The water reservoir opening is too small making it tricky to pour water in without spilling.
The pot drips during pouring.

Other Thoughts: Overall you can't beat this grinder/brewer for the price.

4 out of 5 eggsLuv Java

Pros: I have owned the capresso mt600. and various other machines . We bought this Saeco from newegg in Novemeber. The Grinder does a good job but the setting are off . If you want a job cup of Joe you need to select for example brew 8 cups and then only put 6 cups of water in the machine , otherwise it come out way to week. On the other hand if you by pass the grind and put you pre-ground Coffee in , this machine will brew a great cup of coffee, as well as very hot. It takes a little time to get to know this machine on the correct setting if you use the grinder , but when you hit it right it is very good .

Cons: The amount of coffee the machine grinds per cup in the automatic setting is to low . You need to always select a higher number of cups then water you add to get it right.

Other Thoughts: Good machine once you learn the quirks.. I would buy again and recomend it . Whe its right is good and hot .

5 out of 5 eggsFirst rate after a little fix ..

Pros: The best coffee I've ever tasted from a coffee maker and a great smell of really great coffee while I'm still laying in bed. First rate construction everywhere, even a cute little filter for the water. Pretty quiet for a grinder but loud enough to make a good alarm if you're a light sleeper.

Cons: Beans getting hung up in the hopper, thus not grinding enough beans to make good coffee. BUT there is a 1 minute fix for that .. see below. The panel and settings could be more logically laid out and it would be nice if there were a light to indicate that the timer is set. Now you have to look at the screen which thankfully doesn't stay lit all the time. If power is out the clock keeps it's current time but does not update the time. It will keep your settings though.

Other Thoughts: The ONLY hang up about this machine is the beans in the hopper not making it the grinder completely. Someone in the assy department didn't look at the design drawings and that's resulted in you getting a hell of a great deal on this machine. You can fix the problem in very short order. Above the grinder, in the hopper is a plastic shield. It's conical and just held on with one weird triangular headed screw and all the screw does is hold the shield on.

My machine, most likely all of them, came with the smooth side of the conical shield in the up position. It looks nice that way and on first blush it would appear correct. HOWEVER the smooth side is to guide the beans into the grinder, so all you need to do is to flip the shield over using a small straight screwdriver to turn the triangular headed screw. In the flipped over position you will see some bracing that's molded into the shield. That's what the beans were getting hung up on. After this change there are NO ISSUES with the bean

4 out of 5 eggsDecent for an All-in-One

Pros: -Different Grind settings
-Different strengths of coffee
-Makes great coffee confirmed by multiple family members
-Easy to use (but terrible instructions manual)
- changeable water filter
- Easy to switch coffee from usual brand to different brand with a auto-grind shut off.
-Easy to clean

Cons: - Reservoir for water is narrow and difficult to pour water in
- Coffee Pot dribbles water/coffee if you don't pour at the right angle
- feels as though coffee goes colder quicker compared to previous coffee maker. Probably should use insulated cups if you like your coffee always hot. This might be due to the settings for making the coffee.

Other Thoughts: Would have been a 5 star if not for cons. Overall it makes a great cup of coffee for average coffee drinkers for a decent price. Its very easy to use once you interpret the instructions manual.

4 out of 5 eggsOne month update

Pros: Still making a great cup of coffee.

Cons: Filling the tank without dripping is difficult.

Other Thoughts: If you use freshly roasted, oily beans it is important to keep the hopper clean. I always wipe it out with a paper towel before I refill it, otherwise the beans will stick, the grind won't be adequate, and the coffee will be weak. The hopper is ridged which seems to help, but I had the same type of issue with my old Capresso.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!!

Pros: The coffee maker has worked great right out of the box. It takes several tries to get the machine to make the coffee the way you like it. What is nice is that you can make a different flavor coffee according to how you feel that day. ie: strong, weak, bitter and full flavor. I know, it sounds crazy but it is true. Also there is no more putting beans in a small grinder every other day or so and or hoping it's your wife who wakes up first to make the coffee so she can grind the beans. This machine grinds the coffee for you, although you still have to fill the hopper. If somehow for the same price you could hook up a water line and have a large bean hopper to hold 10lbs of beans I would be in heaven. The coffee is made consistent whether I make 2 cups or 8 cups. Overall I am satisfied and pleased, so pleased I bought another one from Newegg on sale. If your thinking about it just do it you won't be disappointed.

Cons: Filling the water reservoir is a bit awkward. Look at the photos and you'll see it in the back and the opening is narrow. It is a bit loud when grinding the beans but so was my hand held grinder.

2 out of 5 eggsTwo duds and a refund

Pros: Really nice looking machine, charcoal filter produces some excellent tasting coffee, intuitive setup and use

Cons: Consistently underproduction of ground coffee

Other Thoughts: I went through two of these machines before finally asking for a refund. Unless I physically shook the coffee maker only a few teaspoons of beans would make it through the burr grinder and into the brew basket. I'm inclined to believe that this in an engineering deficiency but could have just got two bad units in a row. Regardless, Newegg's customer service was pleasant and professional to deal with. Too bad about the machine, has a lot going for it but I can't settle for weak and watery coffee.

4 out of 5 eggsGenerally good machine

Pros: Burr grinder, large capacity, relatively quiet (for a burr grinding machine), makes a very nice cup of coffee.

Cons: It's tall, it won't fit under the cabinets above the countertop. Check your available space. The opening to add water is rather small and out of the way. The manual is not the greatest, but I was able to figure things out with the spotty info.

Other Thoughts: This is a replacement for a 9+ year old Capresso Team Luxe. The Capresso is still going, but I thought I would be proactive. This unit has far fewer quirks than the Capresso for about a third the price (through Newegg). It makes a nice, strong cup of coffee on a single grind, something the Capresso couldn't do. So far I am very happy with the machine.
