Yes, but you should check the model options for the keyboard type. It should state backlit. I believe that this model came with a backlit keyboard as a standard option.

Does this have DDR4 RAM support?

No, it doesn't. This laptop uses DDR3L 1600 RAM. It can be easily upgraded by just taking out one single screw to remove the back panel. That also allows you to change the HDD and add an M2 storage.

Is there a fan control on this model I need to set up? The fan has not been running since I purchased.

If you have been doing gaming or anything CPU/GPU intensive you should definitely have had the fans start running by now, I did a fresh install of windows and the fans were running without any specific setup. If the fans aren't running at all I would try and get a replacement/refund.

Is this a touchscreen? It shows it in the video but I see nothing in the description

I bought this recently and am thrilled with its performance. It is not a touch screen but with Windows 10 it isn't necessary, touch screen is not as beneficial as it was with Windows 8. I don't miss having a touch screen at all.

If I were to buy a better SSD, what should I do with the old 8GB one? Is the OS installed on the HDD? If it is, how do I migrate the OS to the new SSD and remove it from the HDD?

Don't buy this at all, these guys might sell you a refurbished one as new and it will not have the specs claimed on this page. They will just dismiss you by saying it's merely an entry error and not deal with your defective product. Had an abundance of problems with the OS crashing and sound driver killing itself.

Is the SSD the primary drive? Meaning the laptop will boot up with the ssd speeds?

The drive is NOT an SSD drive.  It's a 1tb 5400rpm sata drive that has an SSD 8gb cache (known as a hybrid drive).  The 8gb's is not a separate drive, but merely a means of quicker caching.  The way I understand it is the OS basically stores frequently accessed files into the 8gb partition over time to make boot times quicker.

It's not a normal external battery like traditional laptops. Yes it can be swapped out.
