Rating + 5 Awesome

Pros: Really nice cooler.

Keeps my overclocked 8800GTS card at 47C idle and 55C on load compared to 59C idle and 73C on load.

The numbers speak for themselved. I added a 120mm on the side to help with the airflow and i'm sure that helped the gpu cooler.

Be sure to use some Artic Silver 5 or Ceramique, it realy helps.

Cons: Not really a con but getting the ram heatsinks to stay on is a pain but with the help of some thermal paste like Artic Silver or other high quality grease it helps.

Other Thoughts: Worth the $40

Rating + 3 Amazing cooling, but hard to get to fit

Pros: Once Installed I noticed my GPU temperature went down from an average of about 60C to never getting hotter than 40C and usually runs about 35C. I have seen a great improvement as far as video performance on my dual monitors. And the blue leds are amazing looking with my blue led case fans and cpu fan.

Cons: THIS IS HARD TO PUT ON. No joke it took me about an hour to figure out how to make the thing fit and I used to work in a computer shop and used to put these things on all the time. The first problem I had, and reading the reviews I am not the first, is that the copper fins were hitting some of the taller compactors on my video card. I ended up having to bend the copper fins up about a eighth of an inch. When I put the card in my computer the fins were also hitting the next pci slot, I was able to get it to fit by removing the two screws that secure the fan assembly to the heatsink (you will have to see the cooler in person to understand, but its still fine with out the screws it just gives you a little more adjusting room removed). The last problem I experienced is that I had bent the heatsinks so much trying to get onto my card into my case my fans were all misaligned and were rubbing, Luckily I was able to bend the fins to make it fit and not rub. You might not be however.

Other Thoughts: I would not even consider this cooler unless:
<p>1. You have a full ATX motherboard once installed this cooler takes up a slot above and below due to the size of the cooler.
<p>2.At least a mid-atx case this will not fit in a micro.
<p>3. I would inspect your video card and make sure there are no large compacitors near the gpu.
<p>Even after that be prepared and test fit everything.

Rating + 4 so far so good

Pros: It dropped my idle temp by 10c.

it looks cool.

not very hard to install.

Cons: I still reach around 77c at max compatibility. Nothing major but I thought it would be better than that. I think it is a problem on my end. My case is not very good either is my room temp.

The aluminum heat sinks kept falling off. The adhesive was not very strong on them. I had to use some of my thermal compound to make them stick on.

Rating + 1 Didn't work on 7800gs

Pros: It looks great....... But didn't work on my card.

But Newegg was very fast at sending me a return label.

Cons: DOES NOT work on the 7800GS

Other Thoughts: Right when I got it, took my video card out of my case, and started taking it apart. Got everything apart, and cleaned up. Mounted the brackets and went to test fit it, and it doesn't fit. There are some capacitors on the back of the card that wont clear the fins on the heat sink. Even though Newegg on there site says it will fit "NVIDIA 7800GS/GT/GTX ". So now I get to put my card back together and get another cooler, and do the work twice. :-(

Rating + 5 Awesome cooler for my xfx 9800gt

Pros: Cools my xfx 9800gt from stock idle of about 50 C to 38C and under load never goes above 50C. The blue leds look great in the case.

Cons: The nuts on the back side of the card are a little long. i used to have my card in the first pci slot but had to move it down because the onboard audio card was in the way of the nuts...no biggie. for a 12 degree drop, i think it was worth having to reinstall the drivers.

Other Thoughts: I had to bend the cooler for it to fit because the capacitors on the card were preventing the base of the heatsink from making contact with the gpu.

Rating + 5 Good Cooler

Pros: Really does an outstanding job of cooling a 8800gt.

Cons: Instructions do not specifically address 8800gt installation, but actual procedure is pretty much self-evident.

Other Thoughts: My 8800GT (XFX Alpha Dog Edition) idle was running about 61C at an ambient room temp of 75F. Fully loaded it would hit close to 90C. After installing the CL-G0102 the card idles at 42C and does not load higher than 58C.
Quite an improvement over the original heat sink! I used artic silver 5 instead of the paste provided.

Rating + 5 8800GT

Pros: Much better cooling then the stock hunk of metal that they stick on the 8800GT, Ran 55-60C idle, with new cooler it runs about 40-44c idle games don't make it much hotter.
It may have more fans making it a Tad louder but i was having to overclock the default fan to max you can hear the sound diffrence so all in all it works great

Cons: None that i can think of at the moment

Rating + 4 A+ Cooler 4 Asus EAH4850

Pros: 40c idle and 60 full load
Came with enough heat sinks.
Quiet enough for me.
I can run Crysis on high without worry.

Cons: Power connector doesn't let me control my fan speed in Asus Smart Doctor. No biggy. Thermal tape on the heat sinks are kinda bad but once I got them on and ran 3DMark06 a couple times they stuck on real good.

Other Thoughts: Covers extra PCI slot. I wish they designed a cooler with air blowing out the back.

Pros: Great vga cooler, keeps my Nvidia Pny 9600 gt nice and cool. Dropped my video card temps 7-8 degrees c.

Cons: It might have just been me but was having a little trouble aligning the fan holes with the vid card holes but once i figured it out it fit perfectly.

Pros: Great cooling paired with a 8800GT 512MB
Keeps it 40-50c compared to the 100c I was reaching with stock cooling.

Other Thoughts: Have it paired with Arctic Silver 5

Rating + 5 Great Product

Pros: Lowered temps on my 9600gt by 20°C. Fairly easy to install. Completely inaudible above my case fans.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Thermaltake has upgraded this cooler to be compatible with 9600gt's. However the model I received was not one of the newer models. Still easy to install, but the correct mounting hardware was not there. I was still able to install it fine with the given hardware though.

Rating + 5 Works for me

Pros: Got it at a nice price. Pretty easy to install. It cools my BFG 8800GT OC very well. With the stock cooler my idle temps would average around 52C-60C idle, and climb up around 80C under a heavy load, and that was with the fan running 80%-90%. After I installed this the idle temps are in the low 40's and doesn't get above 50 under a load.

Cons: Would like to be able to control the fan, but it seems to do a pretty good job with the setting that it is at.

Other Thoughts: The heatsinks didn't give me a problem. I just made sure everything was clean before I put them on and then let it set for an hour before I installed it. I have had it for a couple of months now and I am overall very pleased. I would buy another one if I had another card.

Rating + 4 cools very well

Pros: I installed this on my HD 4850 (yes, it DOES fit & work on an HD 4850).

My 4850 use to be at 70c idle, 90c load.

Now with this cooler, it's at 30c idle, 50c load!! Very nice!

Cons: It's a bit loud. At idle speeds, it's about as loud as the stock fan @55%. During load, it's as loud as 65% of the stock fan.

I marked off an egg due to the loudness. I don't mind the loud fan during load, but when I'm not playing a game, I like to have a silent computer.

Other Thoughts: If you decide to get this, you should get a 4-pin Molex to 3-pin adapter. That way you can connect it to your video card & control the speeds using ATI Tray Tool.

Rating + 4 8800GT Problem

Pros: Looks nice coming out of the box, the mirror finish on the contact surface speaks to a well manufactured product.

Cons: Is not compatible with my particular flavor of 8800GT <XFX Alpha Dog Edition>. Copper fins on one sides come in contact with a metal tab on the end near the DVI connectors and with a row of transistors on the other end.

Other Thoughts: Read reviews and thought that this solution would work for me, looks life I'll have to go with another maufacturers product.

Pros: Quiet operation, replaces bulkier hamster-wheel coolers, dropped 5c off of idle temps for me. Working great in my HTPC, aside from cleaning off my card's TIM (nothing to do with the cooler) on the ram, install was pretty easy.

Cons: Not deducting an egg for it, but the cable for one of the fans was a bit raised and got shaved down by the fan during my first power-on test after installation. Made a big racket and gave me a heart attack before I figured out what the noise was. A simple push fixed it into place, so no big deal.

Other Thoughts: Had to pick this up to get the side on a very slender HTPC case, fit inside the card's form factor so if the card fits, so will the cooler. Good news to me anyway.

Pros: Does a great job of cooling my graphics card. I currently have it installed on a Sapphire 4850. It idles around 39-40C and load 50-52C
Like the blue led lights as well.

Cons: Is a bit on the loud side

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a good upgrade from the stock cooler. It lowered temperatures by about 10-12C.

Pros: 35 idle gpu core, 46 loaded. Reference 4850 512m Visiontek.

Cons: memory heatsinks leave alot to be desired, no prob though i ordered some copper enzotech heatsinks for the memory, and a zalman heatsink model number rhs50 for the other memory thingie.

Other Thoughts: So much quieter than stock fan.

Pros: Connecting power to the 5 watt power supply instead of the 12 watt makes this an extremely quiet and efficient cooler on my ATI HD 4850.

Cons: Mounting screws are easy to strip. Don't over tighten. Two fans running at 12 watts is very noisy especially when the fans get out of phase.

Other Thoughts: I built a switch that selects either 5 watts or 12 watts for the power supply to my old single fan cooler which I ran at 12 watts for gaming and media and 5 watts for peace and quiet at bed time. With the new DuOrb I've run WoW, Warhammer and some video benchmarking programs and haven't seen more than 40 C running this thing at 5 watts. Don't think I'll ever need 12 watts again.

Pros: Well.... it looks pretty... and the fans look great when turned on (blue LED)

Cons: It says it supports 7800... so I installed it on my 7800gtx and saw that some capacitors were in the way.....oookay... so I bend the copper "FINS" and tighten it down with some Arctic silver 5.. and as what do I see right when windows loads.... ARTIFACTS!!

Other Thoughts: Thermaltake, I love your products.. but please.. when you say you support a card.. please make sure it works..

(and Yes I installed it properly, its the ram "fins" that are SUPER cheap and fall off easily)

(if it matters I have the very first 7800gtx that only had 256mb of memory)

Rating + 4 Works well, still fairly loud

Pros: It brought my idle temperature on a 4850 to 30'C and load (1 hours in furmark) to 58'C using MX-2 thermal paste. Includes more than enough heatsinks for RAM and VRMs

Cons: Compared to the stock cooler, this is about as loud as 55% of the stock which was fairly noticeable. Not having any sort of control over the fan speed without buying a controller or molex to 3-pin adapter keeps this from a 5.

Other Thoughts: Installation of the cooler is a breeze. Removing all the thermal paste left from the last stock cooler certainly was not.

Rating + 5 Excellent for HD 4850

Pros: Excellent results on my Radeon HD 4850.
With stock cooling, increasing the default fan speed, and no overclocking I was getting about :
- 58-64 C idle
- 75-85 C full load.
And that little fan gets very loud after about 70% to 80% throttle when at full load.

With the DuOrb my temps are:

- 38-40 C idle
- 51 C full load, sustained after several hours of using Folding@home GPU client.
The fan is almost unnoticeable, especially after being used to hearing the obnoxiously loud stock fan at high RPMs.
(And this is after I have overclocked to 725 core and 1100 memory.)

I am extremely pleased with my results and would recommend the DuOrb to any other 4850 owners.

Cons: Be careful with those little screws holding the square bracket when removing the stock heatsink, they strip easily.

Other Thoughts: I used Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound instead of the generic looking paste that comes in a small plastic bag.

Rating + 5 It's obvious

Pros: - Significant temperature drop with my ATI HD4850
- Very silent (more silent than stock fan)
- Took care of overheating problems in some games
- Easy to install
- LEDs look very appealing

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I read some reviews that talked about the fans being very noisy. That is not true. The fans are very quiet. The stock fan of my HD4850 (Gigabyte) was 10 times as noisy especially when cranked up to where it could handle the load.

Rating + 4 A fan that fits is my small case!!!!

Pros: I was amazed at the quality of this cooler. It sits on a AGP PowerColor HD 3850. Sits on card close to same height of card!

Cons: I did have to shave just a small portion of the mount in order to make it fit.

Other Thoughts: I had tried many coolers as I needed one to be able to fit in the small case I have. It was hard going since you could never find actual dimensions on coolers and if you did they were not always accurate. Been using since 4/28/2008.

Rating + 5 Phenominal cooling

Pros: Remarkably more efficient cooling than manufacturer/generic mounting + fan. Running 8800 GT OC's SLI'd. This bad boy kept the card running up to 10 degrees celcius cooler than the stock mounting.

Highly recommended for keeping your VGA chip and board cooler not to mention your entire system...the amount of heat displaced by this card is enough to heat a 1,300 square foot condo.

Cons: Careful mounting is required. Follow directions carefully. Inquire for help is necessary.

Pros: Effectively cools my X1950GT to about 38*C Idle(about ambient temp inside case) and 42*C Load.

Cons: Louder than other aftermarket cooling solutions, somewhat audible.

Rating + 5 Amazing difference

Pros: Fit my Eah4850 perfectly. With stock cooling my card at 100% fan speed hit around 58c idle and 65c+ during gameplay. With this new fan I stay at around 34C during game play.
My old gpu fan sounded like a runway and i could hear it over my loud music, this fan i can not even hear over my 4 other fans.
This fan was worth every penny.

Cons: Just make sure you use the correct hex screws so that the fan contacts the gpu and you should have no problems.
I came across this problem the first time over but quickly noticed the 1/8th of an inch gap and voila! It all works fine

Rating + 4 DuOrb on PowerColor AG3850

Pros: Fit new PowerColor AG3850 even though card or series was not listed in cooler specs.. Took a chance and it worked. Brought idle temp. for GPU from 36 C to 29 C and full activity from 63 C to 38 C. Quieter than single fan cooler that came on card. Installed with Arctic Silver 5 and Arctic Silver epoxy on the V-Ram heat sinks. Lights on fans do look cool.

Cons: Chepo thermal paste. Did slightly raise the CPU and system temps due to greater heat extraction from GPU into case, but well within tolerance with good case exhaust. Had to slightly bend the front fan and heat pipe up to clear components on card; not a problem though.

Other Thoughts: P4, 2.8 Gig system with 500 W. PS, AG3850 graphics, intake and exhaust fans for good air flow.
Arrived packed to the hilt and in excellent condition.
Thanks Newegg!

Rating + 4 Unbelievable VGA Cooling System

Pros: I have an ASUS EAH3870 512MB. Here's what it did for my video card (I play Far Cry 2 on high settings):

Stock Cooling : 43 idle and 88 peak during game play
Thermaltake Cooling : 28 idle and 39 peak during game play

The Thermaltake CL-G0102 VGA cooler is unbelievable! I was very skeptical of the user reviews because I couldn't believe ASUS would provide such a poor stock cooling system.

The vga cooler is not heard over my Antec Gamer 900 case fans which are on high settings.

I clock the vga memory to 805; the gpu to 1301...Can't wait to find out what the limits are now that the thermal issue is under control.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Windsor 3.2GHz
ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition
2GB CORSAIR XMS2 (2 x 1GB)
Western Digital Raptor X WD1500AHFD
GREAT GAMING SYSTEM

Cons: Use silver compound since it comes with standard paste - I bought Arctic Siver-5.

Apply thermal paste liberally since the mounting brackets do not exactly clamp the heatsinc down on the graphics cpu very tight. The screws have extremely fine threads and seem to be easy to strip.
The screws go into barrels (similar to case to motherboard mounts) - don't over tighten!

Other Thoughts: Artifacts were appearing during game play and the pc would lock up once in a while(even when I didn't overclock)... now it plays flawless! I Just wish the mounting screws were better designed so that the heatsinc would tighten down better against the GPU.

One more thought... there is no fancy metal back brace on the back of the vga card - I think that's a good thing because the stock card's back brace must have drew heat and with no cooling mechanism on it, it got way too hot. Things that make you go hmmmm.... if you know what I mean... ASUS!

Pros: Just got this bad boy and it makes a world of difference. Lowered my temps to ~30 degrees idle and ~50 degrees load from about 85 degrees idle and 105 degrees load (Celcius) Currently have my radeon 4850 overclocked to 700/1125 and it barely reaches 50 degrees!

Cons: It wasnt free

Rating + 4 Pretty Good

Pros: Lightweight. Easy to install. Good firm contact with GPU chip. Nice blue light when powered on.

Brought my GPU from 55C Idle to 47C Idle
Brought my GPU from 65-75C Load to 53-57C Load

Cons: The red and black wires that go from the fans to the main power connector can sometimes get in the way of the fan spinning. They tell you to put on WAY too much thermal grease than you actually need. Only use about 1/8-1/4 of the little package they give you.

Other Thoughts: Should buy if you are looking for compact cooling. Quite affordable too, so that is good =)

Pros: This heatsink is just fantastic, great design and wont cover up any SATA ports. It brought my 8800 GT from 55-65 idle and 75-80 under load down to 42-44 Idle and no higher than 60 under load. I also overclocked my 8800 GT and the temps are still about the same. Great job Thermaltake =)

Cons: There are no instructions for installationg on the 8800 GT. Be sure you use the smaller screws when mounting though or the heatsink will make no contact.

Other Thoughts: You may also want to use some aftermarket thermal compund (I used Arctic Silver 5) on the GPU and RAM, the sticky pads on the RAM heatsinks will not stick at all.

Rating + 4 So Far So Good

Pros: I just installed this on an 8800GT and my idle temps were 56c-60c idle , and 75c-85c under a load, even with the fan at 100% I never could get the temps below 55c unless the room temp is below 65F. This fan/heatsink brought them down to 41c-42c idle, and 55c-65c under a load. So that is a big improvement.

Cons: I dont think I could ever get the heat sink totally flush with the gpu, but obviously right now that does not seem to be a problem. I wish I could read the fan speed and adjust it. The instructions are lousy but it's not hard to figure out.

Other Thoughts: The memory heatsinks are staying on for the time being I hope they don't fall off. I let them sit for a few hours before I installed the fan so hopefully that will be good enough. If they fall off then I will use some thermal adhesive.

Pros: 50% temperature reduction on Radeon HD 4850! Dropped the temp of my ASUS EAH4850 from ~70C idle and ~90C load (at 70% constant stock fan speed, using the card's auto fan control is MUCH worse temps) to 35C idle and < 45C load. Simple install, comes with all necessary clips and heatsinks for my card

Cons: Makes the graphics card take up two slots, but not a problem for me since I have 2 empty spaces above/below. Thermal tape on the heatsinks isn't that great, though none of mine fell off the card, they never really set in place either. No fan control, but it's much quieter than the original fan at 70%

Other Thoughts: If you have a 48xx card it's worth the money to get a good cooler for it like this, my card used to go over 100 degrees C occasionally but now it will not go over 45C!

Pros: On my HIS 4850, dropped temps from the 77C-102C range to a much cooler 29C-49C range. ATI Auto tune got a 690/1183 at 49C, where on stock it only got to 685/1023 at 102C!

Looks very pretty, although lights may be a little too bright if you have PC in a bedroom, and a case window on your case.

Installation was easy and fitment was very good, fans at 100% all the time, but not an issue because they are very quiet.

Cons: The sticky stuff on the ramsinks isn't worth a (inappropriate word). I had to reuse the thermal pads from the stock heatsink because the ramsinks would not stay on. Didn't mark it down because it was correctable.

Other Thoughts: This is a great cooler for the 4850.
Newegg's language filter is easily offended.

Rating + 5 This cooler is great

Pros: This cooler is way better than the stock cooler that came with my XFX PVT98GYDLU GeForce 9800 GT 512MB ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150316 ) idle of 60 and load in the high 70s at times are now at 40 idle and 57 at a high load. that is using all the parts that came with it. i did not buy any artci silver or new thermal adhesive for the ram heat sinks.

Cons: you might just might have to use your brain if you own a XFX card. the xfx 9800 gt that i put this on has a tab at the front with a bar code on it...much like other xfx video card, meaning that if you have a problem making it fit its because XFX put that tab there and your going to have to tweak the heat sink EVER SO SLIGHTLY to get it to fit. the capacitors on the back side of the card hit the other fan, so lets all guess what you have to do. when i say tweak i mean like a 2 degree bend if that. you barely apply pressure and viola you got it.

Other Thoughts: if your having problems with this giving you higher temps than stock it maybe because you are not seating it correctly. if you have the same card that i do then you will use the inside set of mounting holes with the short spacers. this will get it to seat correctly. you will NOT use the mounting holes or the spacers for the 8800 cards.

Rating + 5 Heck of a cooler!!!

Pros: Solid copper structure that dissipates heat more effectively. The fan is very quiet and moves a sufficient amount of air. Really improved my temps! amd x2 4800+ s939 was at 48-50C load with Zalman cnps-9500. Now, I'm at 42-43C at stock. OC'd to 2.87GHz and hold steady at 52C under load. Hard to beat those temps on air!!!

Cons: Base isn't exactly polished and flat. It is big, but necessarilt big for the job it does. Make sure you have a mid-tower case or better.

Other Thoughts: I lapped the Heatsink base to a 1200 grit finish (Some went further ~ 2000 grit), and improved my load temps by ~3C. I also changed out the stock fan for a Silverstone FM-121, and that helped another 3C under load. All in all, a great cooler for its time.... maybe even THE greatest!

Rating + 4 Nice, but relatively complex install

Pros: On a pair of EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS cards with factory overclocking, my load temps were around 70C for the top card and 85C for the bottom card with stock coolers. Installing these brought them down to the high 50s on both cards, and the bottom card is now only two degrees hotter than the top. I played COD WAW for almost four hours straight, and stayed cool the whole time.

Cons: The stock coolers contacted all the chips on the board. For these you have to install passive coolers for the VGA RAM chips and the VGR chips. The product comes with these. However, I opted to replace the RAM heatsinks with Zalmans.

If you do use these, be sure to clean off the adhesive they come with and replace it with some Arctic Silver adhesive. The adhesive provided doesn't stick, nor does it provide adequate conductivity.

It will take a few minutes and a combination of fingernails and mild solvent to get the adhesive off the chips, but it is necessary to do this. If you use the provided adhesive the chips will get to hot even though your system will report that the GPU is cool (The GPU is cool. The chips have no heat sensor but are nonetheless quite sensitive to heat.)

Also, this is likely only an issue on GeForce 8800 boards. The other boards that this cooler supports don't run as hot, and many of them might not need the passive heatsinks at all.

Other Thoughts: These things aren't silent. In fact they are the loudest thing in my case right now. On the other hand, short of water cooling I haven't found anything that comes close to these for cooling the 8800s.

Pros: I would have to say everything about this cooler is a pro. it is keeping my Palit HD4850 at 36C idle and ~58C under load at 625MHz core and 1986MHz memory. HUGE improvement over the stock cooler that made me underclock this card from stock and still was overheating. I will definitely purchase this cooler for my other card when i get it. bright lights make a nice addition to my other 4 blue LED fans in my case.

Cons: instructions are not detailed at all but wasn't hard to figure out how to install the product.

Other Thoughts: my system:
Intel core 2 duo e7200 at 3.6 Ghz with ninja scyth 2 (amazing cpu cooler)

Rating + 5 Excellent replacement for

Pros: my HIS x1950xt turbo IceQ3 cooler. So far the Hottest my card has reached was 66c during stress test. After the ceramique settled seems to stay around 50-60c depending on game and room temp. Quieter then the stock cooler imo. Idle is around 38-40c. Even OCing stays at same temperature. Seems Like the more I throw at it the better it does.

Cons: The only complaint I have is the memory heatsinks are aluminum and were smaller then the memory chip. I had some heatsinks from a vantec cooler that I used. So I recommend buying some heat sinks.

Other Thoughts: Just make sure the memory chips are super clean and you shouldn't have any problems with the thermal tape. Thats what I am using and they have not fell off yet.
Oh and there is no fan control which for me is no big deal since I run my fans 100% any way.

Cons: 8800's tend to run hot so difference wasn't what i expected but still much better. heatsinks too flimsy, i thought that they wouldnt stay on chips. i guess once heated they adhere better.

Pros: went from 60*C to 45*C idle, and 85*C to 60*C load. The noise is just slightly higher than the stock EAH4850 fan on idle, but doesnt get any louder under load. Nice LEDs and installation is simple.

Cons: runs at 100% all the time, which is not really bad but it would be nice if u could control it. Will take up and extra PCI slot.

Other Thoughts: used on my ATI EAH4850 with some arctic silver compound. 25% decrease in temps.

Rating + 4 Do not try to mod it!

Pros: It cools extremely well. The fan is quite yet moves enough air to thoroughly cool both the GPU and the rest of your case. Looks awesome. Great installation, thoroughly mounted.

Cons: Wire is not held down and can easily be cut by the fan. The copper pipes are flimsy and easily break. It also takes up two slots, but most non-stock cooling does.

Other Thoughts: Do not try to mod it! Most copper pipes can be easily bent for extra room, not these ones, they break easily.

Cons: Heatsinks dont stick well, push em on good, then the heat should help keep it on. Doesnt use video card supplied power.

Other Thoughts: Great heatsink if you wanna drop the standard big copper one wiht small fan on it. Its easy to install, just read the instructions and take your time.

Rating + 5 Great Fan and Design

Pros: Keeps my 3870 at 24c while idle.
Nice dual fan design keeps under load even cool, reaching up to about 43c.
Not all that loud, but I can't necessarily tell, I keep a few other fans running at full load at all times.
Bright blue LEDs.

Cons: Can collect dust within its heat sinks, allowing my GPU to idle at about 40c, with load at about 65c.
Can be a bit large.
Instructions are not really clear, but you should be able to figure it out if you have at least half a brain.

Other Thoughts: I have my 3870 clocked to 805mhz/2502mhz, and it barely lets the GPU get to a higher temperature. But then again, I spend most of my gaming time playing CS:S.

Pros: I have two EVGA 8800 GTS 320's in SLI. They were running about 65 C at idle and over 80 C under load. Now running low 50's at idle and around 65 C under load. This is excellent since the 320's run very, very hot doing just about nothing without....

Cons: The little metal fins that you are supposed to glue on could be a little more sticky. One fell off while I was installing the card - had to pull it back out to re-attach.

Rating + 4 Salvation for an HD4850!

Pros: Beastly cooling. The twin fans are quiet and effective, and they light up to boot. I can't hear these fans over my case fans; my stock ASUS EAH4850 sounded like a wee jet engine. This thing brought my EAH4850 from about 65c to 38c idle, 75c to 41c load (when compared with the stock fan at 100% speed). The copper heat sinks, which are formed around the fans, connect to the GPU through two heat pipes. Cooling for the VRAM and other chips is provided through aluminum heat sinks attached by thermal stickers. The fan is much larger than a stock cooler for a one-slot drive, so make sure you have room. The power for the cooler is provided through a standard 4-pin Molex connector with pass-through.

Cons: I'm not a big fan of the thermal stickers on the chip heatsinks. If you use them, make sure you clean off the tops of the chips and stick them right the first time, because they do tend to come off if there's old thermal material on there or a dirty surface. The fan does not come with a throttle, though it is well-balanced in terms of speed and noise from the factory. The way the cooler attaches to the card is sturdy, but not that great. On the back of the card, there is no brace; only long nuts hold the card on. These nuts are quite long--almost too long. Also, the "bolts" on the GPU side don't fit quite right.

Other Thoughts: This cooler is a bit expensive for my taste, but that's more because I expect stock video card coolers to at least be able to keep the GPU from melting. Not really the case with my EAH4850, even with the fan at 100%. Also, on my HD4850, the cooler will only fit in one orientation.

Rating + 5 five eggs not five stars

Pros: Well so far it's brought down my temp roughly 7c - 9c.

Cons: Not exactly the drop I wanted to happen but maybe in time.
The instructions aren't great, so when you put the memory heat sinks on make sure you clean them really good and let the card sit awhile so the adhesive grips them better.
I don't like the single fan speed and having to plug it in to a four pin source. Is also a little fan noise.

Other Thoughts: XFX 8800GTX, Arctic silver 5, Idled at 61c - 65c and now at 53c -54c, I haven't done full load yet but before I installed it, it usually got to 76c and has gotten above 80c before.

Rating + 5 Great Fan

Pros: This fan brought my temps down on my ASUS 4850 from 51 C ide - 83 C load to now 39 C idle and 51 C load. Much much quieter than the stock fan on the card. Simple install

Cons: Directions aren't all that great. Heat sinks that come with this are ok. I had one sink that was barely hanging on so I put some thermal grease on it and it seemed to hold. I would say to buy some extra heat sinks as backup if you don't like the ones that come with it.

Other Thoughts: This is the first vga card that I've messed with. I was a little scared taking the stock heatsink off with all the screws that were on it. But the Thermaltake was so easy to put on, it only had a 4 screws on the cooler, and only 4 to hook to the card. Very easy to install. Love the blue LED's also.

Pros: It does a much better job than the stock cooling fan that was on my Nvidia 6800GT card, especially after the stock fan died.

Cons: Installation may be a bit tedious. I had to bend the fans up on each side to clear parts on the card. Fortunately, I was able to bend them up just enough without breaking anything.

Pros: Great looks, efficient cooling, considerably small (even though it still takes up the adjacent slot), good compatibility range, included memory and VRM heatsinks work like a charm! Even had leftovers!

Cons: Instructions!

Other Thoughts: Replaced the heatsink on a Chaintech 8800GT (G92) because the "heatsink" combo began to fail in cooling. I thought I couldn't use the cooler because the right fan assembly touched the huge caps but after bending the fan upwards it mounted perfectly. Yes you do have to use the 7 series instructions as the 8800 GTS/X/Ultras were built differently.

That pretty much did it for me.

Cons: The nuts are abnormally long. I have to use a spacer between my two graphics cards or else the fan from my primary card starts hitting the nuts on the back of the second card.

Rating + 2 Not Working Well On 8800 GTS

Pros: Attached to my 8800 GTS SSC....This is a great looking cooler! The copper cooling pipes and wings are high tech in appearance and the unit does not take up any more room than the stock cooler. The two fans are not loud, even at full speed. An easy install, if you read the comments of others who have purchased this unit. This cooler is very well priced. Clearly many people are having very good results with it….Not me!

Cons: With a room temp around 75F, the stock cooler yielded idle temps of 48C-52C and in game (World Of Conflict) temps of 78C-85C. This cooler is providing better idle temps of 40C-44C and in game temps of 79C-85C. Thus, no real improvement when it really counts. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it five times using different amount of Artic Silver 5. Larger amounts seem to work better (3-4 grains of rice). As many reviewers have said, the install instructions are wrong for 8800. You must use the short posts with washers on inside and hand tighten the nuts. It may or may not be that most of the heat from the GPU is at the center of the processor, but I am concerned that since this unit does not cover the entire GPU, that may be part of the problem.

Other Thoughts: If your looking for a way to cool an 8800 series card, be careful to determine if your version of that graphics card will work well with this cooler. I buy all my parts at Newegg and I will not buy anything important anywhere else. My system is...Antec 900, 700w Thermalake, Creative X-fi card, Intel Duo-core E6600, P5B Deluxe, WD 75’s in Raid 0, One WD 300GB.

Pros: This cooler is amazing. When im not gaming (sleeping, work, etc) I run Stanford University's folding at home GPU core. My computer started locking up over night, and I found my GPU temp to be over 90C! After installing this cooler the highest GPU temp i have seen is 53C! What an amazing difference!

Cons: Instructions could be a little better, also the adhesive on the ram heatsinks is not that great.

Other Thoughts: My PC: 2.13GHz Core 2 Duo E6420, MSI P35 Platinum, 4GB corsair XMS2, Sapphire Radeon 4850 512MB, WD Raptor X HDD

Rating + 5 match made in heaven for 4850 video cards

Pros: Looks unreal better than a Zalman, and with 45nm ATi cards like 3850,3870,4850 etc.. these cooler are just unreal. I'm not sure why ATI does not contract with Thermaltake and put these on thier cards, dropped my temps 30c+

Cons: none, I would not recommend this fan for geforce 65 nm video cards they just run to hot for these cooler. Thermalake will tell you different but I have tried them on multiple geforce cards and they don't works aswell with their gpus, but for the cooler runing 45nm ATI cards they are flat out fantasic.

Other Thoughts: none runs at 100 percent fan all the time but is near silent

Rating + 4 !!AWESOME!!

Pros: This Air cooled VGA cooler is awesome. I have a EVGA 7800 gs OC for AGP (yes I still have AGP, that is why I bought this card was to get the best I could) I have had my card for 2 years and I always had heat problems with the stock cooler. I was idle at 50 C and gaming pushed me to sometimes 80 C, after I installed the cooler, Idle is 38 C, and gaming hasnt broke 50 C. I got back my framerates. This card cooler is awesome. Oh and its quiet.

Cons: 2 problems
- came with very cheap memory heatsinks. I love the Thermaltake brand and I bought the copper ones. Those are awesome. I just wish they would have packaged them with the cooler.
- My 7800 gs OC apg has a bridge on it, and the clip size did not match the holes. So i had to get creative on how to mount it. So it wasnt that compatible with my card.
- it does take up another pci slot, so it does limit a lot.

Other Thoughts: YOu want to cool your card. This is the best

Rating + 3 VGA Cooler

Pros: None

Cons: It didn't cool as well as expected

Other Thoughts: Thermaltake and New Egg were both great. I got a bad one first time out. Both companys were great with helping me with RMA.
After I got the new one it only made about a 6 degree differance at load and 3 at idle. I may be able to get 3 more degrees if I use artic sliver. But Its not worth the time.

If your looking for something to cool your vga try something else.

BFG 8800 GTS OC
Bottom fan, Side fan, Rear fan, Fan controller. 76 degree load VGA 40 degree load CPU

I hope this helps.

Rating + 4 great little VGA cooler

Pros: fairly quiet, looks good, good bang for the buck, cools about 20-25 c cooler then stock cooling.

Cons: none really but read other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: used it on an EVGA SSC 8800GT, make sure you follow the 7 series instructions for proper fit if using a GT series.

Rating + 5 Great buy

Pros: My Radeon HD 4850 was getting idle temps of around 50C and 85C under full load with the stock fan at 100%. Now with the Duorb it has a temp of 30C idle and 45C full load. The fan is also very quiet.

Cons: Not a huge fan of the blue led lights

Other Thoughts: I also used arctic silver thermal paste instead of the stuff it came with.

Pros: great lights

Cons: did not cool down my 9600 gso as advertised. i went back to the original stock heat zinc cooler where i have control of the fan.

Other Thoughts: if you are an overclocker don't get this. i was drawn to the lights

Rating + 2 Not worth it

Pros: Great looking, everything fit together as it is supposed to.

Cons: This VGA cooler did not cool my 8800 Ultra a single degree. I am still idling around 75C and under load it gets close to 100C within minutes (I don't let it get higher than that). I was really hoping this would solve my cooling problems but it has not. Don't waste your money + time.

Other Thoughts: I have a mid sized case and my 8800 ultra takes up a large portion of the case. I have 4 case fans at the moment, but I am concerned the sheer size of the video card is blocking the air flow. Also, there is not an exhaust fan below my graphics card so the heat is not easily removed from the case once it is transferred from the copper heat sink. I am going to save up a little and buy a better case (probably the Antec 1200), and see if this doesn't change the problem. If it does then I will come revisit this review and update my opinion of this product.

Rating + 5 Compatible with Ati HD4850

Pros: Easy to setup, there are enough heatsinks to fit my card with one to spare, and it keeps my GPU very cool. My temps with the stock heatsink/fan were 55 idle and 75 load. Now I get 41 idle and 55 load! I am very satisfied with this product. And as for the noise - I don't hear it. The fans on my case are louder. I would say the noise is comparable to the stock fan at 40% speed. (If it ever got louder than that I could definitely hear it)

Cons: The directions aren't very good. They tell you the bare minimum. Nothing is said about how much of the thermal grease to use, or warning you not to tighten the screws too much (I'll tell you now not to do it), or how to remove the thermal paste already on your GPU (I didn't know).

Other Thoughts: Also used Arctic Silver thermal paste, not the stuff this thing came with. The thermal tape on the ram heatsinks works fine for me now, and I have no plans of replacing it and do not expect them to fall off (others complained about this).

Get this now!

Pros: queit, cools my asus 4850 gpu nicely, temps stay around 40c on load. not bad being the stock fan temps were in the 80's.

Cons: had to bend one of the fans a little for instalation(not the blad only). no big deal at all, had to put something here.

Pros: Keeps temps VERY COOL. the best looking VGA cooler to date.

Cons: Some of the copper is peeling off.

Other Thoughts: Modded it to have RED LEDs instead of blue, so it can match my ATI card.

Rating + 5 A very wise purchase!

Pros: Very quiet. I can't hear it over my CPU and case fans. Keeps my GPU running at a cool temperature, which after the Arctic Silver 5 I bought has settled, has been around 40 degrees Celsius. Under extreme load, it doesn't break 63. That's about what my stock cooler was running at idle, a little less than that!

Cons: Only con I can think of for this was perhaps the aluminum VRM heatsinks, but so far they seem to be holding on great. I wish there was an adjustable fan speed, but I'm sure these babies on here are quite durable at 100% speed, and they look to be easily replaceable provided you can order replacements from Thermaltake.

Other Thoughts: I was a tiny bit skeptical in choosing this cooler, as I am with all coolers. Worrying it's not going to work, or not going to work well. But thankfully, this was one of the best purchases I could have made for my x1950 Pro. Fantastic!

Pros: New Egg and Thermaltake have great customer service.
I have a defective product. And both companys are very fast to offer help. I decided to send it back to Thermaltake because of their turn around program. They will send you one and wait for yours to return to them. Must be there in 30 days.

Cons: None yet. Other then I was the unlucky one.

Other Thoughts: I will update when I get my new cooler.

But I just thought I'd tell you about the customer service.

Thanks Dean

Rating + 5 excellent cooler

Pros: I bought two of these for my sli 8800gt's and they work perfectly. My old idle temps were usually around 55 c now in a hot room they are 43 c. Old load temps would get to 80 c new load max is 49 c a difference of 31 c which is outstanding. Installation was easy and mounting bracket seems pretty sturdy.

Cons: The included tape on the memory heatsinks doesnt stick very well, but i think this is mostly due to the heatsinks having trace amounts of oil or something on them. So be sure to clean them completely and they should stick alright.

Other Thoughts: If your going to invest money in a quality cooler like this you may as well spend the extra money and get some arctic silver 5 thermal paste for the gpu. The heatsink can only dissapate heat as fast as the thermal paste can transfer it.

Rating + 5 just plain sweet

Pros: well let's see, first off it lowered my 8800 gtx from around 60-62c idle to 50! 50!!!!! i felt the card and it's MUCH cooler....but i havent put arctic silver 5 yet on....so prolly gonna be 45c if not lower.....i'm PSYCHED! that is VERY good for the 8800 versions cuz they are meant to run HOT...i mean 65c idle and 80c+ load. so yea this is definetely worth the moh-nay lol

Cons: well the little tiny aluminum memory heatsinks suck ....but i really dont think you need them

Other Thoughts: just awesome.....BUY IT!

Rating + 5 Best coolers for 8800GT SLI

Pros: Easy to install. Dropped my temps from 50c+ idle and 75c+ load to 39c idle and around 55c load. You can fit 2 of these in SLI, and still have room for a sound card. Fans are WAY quieter than the stock cooler.

Cons: Standard molex 4-pin power connectors. Not really a con, as you want these fans running at full speed anyway. But you wont be able to read fan speeds from the card.

Other Thoughts: Like others have said, when installing on a 8800GT, use the instructions for the 7900GT (use shorter screws, and place the washers on GPU side of the card). Don't use the goop that come with the cooler, get some Arctic Silver 5, and use a thin layer on the GPU.

Rating + 5 Works with 4850

Pros: Dropped my temperatures on my Asus HD 4850 by 10 degrees Celsius right away. Very easy to install and well thought out.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: My 4850 kept overheating (like just about everyone else's) so I decided to go with this cooler based on a lot of reviews. I am glad I got this cooler. Thermaltake's website is the best place to go to find if this cooler is compatible with your VGA card.

Rating + 1 Poor Design and Heat conductivity

Pros: Lights up. All copper. Quiet.

Cons: The heat conductivity is what you would call lacking and to be desired. I had this card on an 8800GTS 640Mb video card, and this couldn't take the pressure. My 8800 on stock settings 513/792 idled at 52*C and would reach a blistering high 93*C on load. If you overclocked this at 650/1000 it would hit 99*C and possibly higer (I never let it get any higher). The poor design by TT is the disappointment. Sure it looks cool, but does it work? NO!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT!

Other Thoughts: Bought this with my card on e(ignore this)bay, reapplied the thermal paste using ArticSilver5 and still didn't help. Went back to my old Zalman ZF900 and with the same overclocked settings I only hit 72*C (and the paste hasn't been broke in all the way). That is respectable, unlike this piece of garbage. Luckily I got this for a steal so I didn't lose any money :P.

To the viewer of this item: DO NOT BUY THIS!!! Spend a little more and get a Zalman ZF900, because that will actually work!
Manufacturer Response:Hello Brian,
We are sorry for your experience, but we only claim the cooler to function properly under standard operating conditions and not overclocking.
However, we have had the Duorb on an 8800gtx with full load temps of 59 C.
We can replace the unit for you. Please contact cs3@thermaltakeusa.com.

Pros: Works great with a XFX 8800gt. Lowered my temps alot. Installation was simple. Works way better then the stock cooling. The fans are quieter then the stock ones.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I am using 2 of these on my sli setup with 2 XFX 8800gt's. I am seeing about a 15c to 20c lower temps overall at idle and in use.

Rating + 5 Great Cooler!

Pros: This thing is great! Installed it on a Sapphire HD 3870 and it idles at about 43C and playing FarCry for about an hour never saw it go over 58C and thats OC'd using ATItool.

Cons: One fan had to be bent upward to clear two capacitors but being slow and steady and careful, it's not a big deal to do it and the price and performance of this cooler definately makes up for a minor inconvenience like that.

Other Thoughts: Didn't use the heatsinks that came with it. I've always prefered copper so I used the Thermaltake all copper heatsinks. I don't understand the problem some people have with them falling off though. I install them with the tape that is on them and never had a problem with them falling off. I have some Arctic Silver thermal adhesive but I have never used it.

Rating + 1 Total Garbage

Pros: -Space for Rent-

Cons: Stick with stock or buy a better quality fan. I put artic silver for my compound instead of the cheap stuff this thing comes with, less than a minute I tried to load a game I got the blue screen of death because my 8800 card was overheating. The card was blazing hot. I let cool down and put the stock back on and it works like a dream.

Other Thoughts: Yes it will work for an 8800gt it even says so in the instructions. If it can't handle the card don't say it can.
Don't buy this fan. It's not worth the shipping charges let alone the price. I'd of given this thing no eggs if it were an option.

Rating + 4 The 4870 and you

Pros: Easy to install, high quality of materials, lots of heatsinks (and ignore the whiners about poor adhesive quality, the thin tape holds the heatsinks on quite firmly they will NOT just fall off..do wipe down the ram chips with alcohol first). Pretty quite and the fans have a nice glow.

Cons: Was happy at first had no problems with install and everything was going smoothly. I have a Antec 900 case and have a 120mm fan blowing outside air directly over the GPU so I thought I would have no issues. Ummm, I hope that these things don't melt because after firing up Conan I was getting temp's up to 100-102 C in the midst of battles. Luckily the cooling was able to bring it back down quickly but avg around 80-90 while playing....

Other Thoughts: have a lan party this weekend I just hope my 4870 Doesn't melt into a puddle of slag..
Oh..and Conan was completly stable the entire time not one graphical issue and no strange crashes!

Rating + 5 Excellent cooler for the money

Pros: Dropped the temperatures on my Visiontek HD4870 from 72°C with stock to 46°C at idle with the Thermaltake. Adhesive tape on heatsinks may seem flimsy at first, but I'm pretty confident they won't fall off unless the video card finds itself in a hurricane. GPU contact surface has a great mirror finish to it.

Cons: GPU bracket screws which attach the cooler to the card have no spring retension, so be sure not to over tighten or you may damage the card . Molex connector on the fans as others have mentioned, however I don't personally see this as a con. The included cord is long enough to keep wires neat and tidy. Thermal grease included is typical junk, use some artic silver instead.

Other Thoughts: The heatsink, due to the double pci bracket on the stock 4870, can only be installed in one direction. If you try to install it 180° in the opposite direction, the copper heatsink will touch the S-video out connection, which will cause the heatsink not to sit on the GPU properly. Also, when installing on a 4870, make sure you use the inner screw holes on the GPU bracket for correct alignment with the card.

Rating + 4 Highly recommended

Pros: Excellent cooling while maintaining a small footprint. Pretty quite for a dual fan cooler operating at full speed and moves a good amount of air too. Includes plenty of ram and vrm sinks. Installation was very easy.

Cons: ram and VRM sinks are a bit on the cheesy side and are not made of copper and the thermal tape included isn't the greatest. Thats the only reason this didn't get an excellent 5 egg rateing from me.

Other Thoughts: I bought an HD4850 and had heard about these things idling at 80C. I didn't believe it until I saw it for myself. The card ran so hot I really surprised the pastic shroud covering it didn't start to soften up. It was hot enough that it actually burned when I took it out. That was before installing this cooler. My idle temps are now low to mid 40's and load temps are mid 60's running FURMARK and low 60's in-game. My load temps after are 20C cooler than the IDLE temps prior!!! Very highly recommended.

Rating + 4 Nice Cooler

Pros: In the $40 or less VGA cooler market, there is a lot to choose from but not a lot that work as well as this one. I think there are a couple that are arguably better but in the end this card is a pretty easy install, gets the job done well and is relatively low profile.

Cons: Card should have come with a controller of some sort so the noise could be controlled better, but add on a cheap contrller to this cooler and it can cool while being virtually silent. Some design elements limit its ultimate cooling capacity but they aren't a deal killer.

Other Thoughts: You will be hard pressed to find a cooler at this price point that has fewer cons and more pros. Good overall cooler. There are better but very few cheaper that work as well.
