I ordered 4 of these drives over the last week or so through new egg, and I know it's not their fault but everyone of these drives had high numbers of seek and ECC errors being reported by SMART right out of the box. One of them has gotten so bad that windows crashed out, and had to be reloaded again.
Overall Review:
Seagate's quality is slipping, and I am no longer going to buy a seagate drives for any notebook.
I used to get Hitachi drives, but they seem to be hard to come by now.
I will be RMA'ing these drives to newegg after I get an answer from seagate.
