1 out of 5 eggs Drive Dies Fast And Intel Support Useless 12/10/2010

This review is from: Intel X25-E SSDSA2SH032G1 2.5" 32GB SATA II SLC Enterprise Solid State Disk

Pros:

While working the Intel X25-E Extreme was very fast in OS load times (XP SP3) and for what we were doing with it. We purchased to use in radiologist workstations to improve cache speeds in our PACS application. It did that and made huge studies scroll very smoothly.

Cons:

The drive died within a couple of months. Our company went to Intel for RMA. (Does state a 3 year warranty.) Intel has been giving our I.T. dept many hassles and has not issued an RMA after over 2 months since it died.

Overall Review:

I would recommend staying away from any Intel SSD. OK, a drive could die within 2 months and just that one drive be bad. But when the manufacturer will not honor their own warranty they are not worth doing business with and need to be warned about. We were researching as planning to purchase over a dozen of these but now are looking at other companies with better customer service. Unfortunately we were past the Newegg 60 days so had to go back to the manufacturer.
