Why even add IR to this camera?

Pros:
It works well as a webcam for the price.
Cons:
Not even sure why they claim it has IR. You MUST use the software provided to enable to IR LEDs and they don't stay on for more than 10-45 minutes. Yes they times vary and for no apparent reason.
Overall Review:
I purchased the camera to monitor my newborn son sleeping. The IR does not stay on and you must use the provided software to enable to IR LEDs. I use YAWCAM to stream for monitoring (great software). I also use Do It Again (Great MACRO software) to re-enable the IR LEDs every 10 minutes.
