Locking clip for CPU broke, very weak 11/24/2011
This review is from: ASUS M5A88-V EVO AM3+ AMD 880G SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros:
It ran everything, which I guess is a plus. I didn't have too many boot errors, although all my parts have wierd voltages (higher than usual), and I don't know if that's b/c of the mobo or not.
-High FB and HT speeds (2600)
-PCIe x 16
-From what it says, XFire and SLI support (although second card will run on PCIx4, which isn't as good as two PCIe x 16 slots, so if you plan on using Xfire or SLI, I'd recommend a board with two PCIe x 16 slots....if that little drop in performance matters to you)
Cons:
-The USB 3.0 Drivers don't work
-Because of not-working 3.0 slots, barely any room for other usb devices except on front
-CPU clip doesn't really work, or it arrived broken, might have broken my processor because of it snapping so easy. Now I have to replace a mobo and possibly a CPU as well.
-lots of extra software that screws up any overclocking (any turboV or energy saving software will mess up your clocks, had to disable them...not fun).
-Probably the memory's fault, however it sets 8-8-8-24 memory to 9-9-9-24, and I wasn't able to set the timings to where it should have been without causing the computer to fail in booting.
Overall Review:
-Wierd Voltages
-lots of baggage software, stuff you don't need/want
-Software overclock software I wouldn't recommend, uninstall it and go through BIOS
-Bios is a bit confusing, yet show me one that isn't
