ASUS P8Z77-V LX LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
  • Intel Z77
  • Core i7 / i5 / i3 (LGA1155)
  • DDR3 2400(OC)/2200(OC)

Pros:

Um, looks fairly nice... Decent feature set, I think.

Cons:

DOA. Wow, put together a mid-high end system for a customer, and nothing, nada. ASUS, what gives? I guess a company is entitled to a few duds, and I have installed quite a few ASUS baords, but never one where nothing is working (well, the little green LED is on). Now have to wait for RMA process...

Overall Review:

Bleh

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize that the motherboard was DOA.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

With no parts installed except CPU, a single stick of memory into DIMM_A2 (2nd from the left; blue), and video card (if you're not using onboard video) and try to boot?

Are you using a CPU that has onboard graphics? Not all Intel i series CPU have onboard graphics. Please visit http://ark.intel.com to check if your CPU has this capability.

Are you using memory from the Qualified Vendors List (http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z77V_LX/#MSL)? If not, please try them as they've been tested to work this motherboard.

In addition, after you power on the system, immediately press and hold the MemOK button until it blinks. The motherboard will attempt to find the default fail safe SPD settings from the memory. The system may cycle several times during this process. It is normal.

Try to plugging a system speaker to the 4-pin speaker connector (lower right corner) and monitor if any beeps that occur when you turn on the computer.

1 short beep = keyboard issue
1 long beep and 2 short beeps = memory issue
1 long beep and 3 short beeps = VGA issue
1 long beep and 4 short beeps = hardware component issue

Lastly, please make sure that the 24-pin and 8-pin power connectors are connected to the board. If you have another power supply, please try that also.

If you continue to experience issues, please contact me at cl-benson@asus.com reference #C1037-710. Please include system parts and specs when replying.

Regards,
Benson
