This review is from: SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC128D/AM 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) Desktop Upgrade Kit
Pros:
I have used this product everyday for over 16 weeks and I must say that I am impressed.
*hasn't failed in the first few day like OCZ and other brands.
*reliable brand, with product support (registered at Samsung.com)
*Load and copies music files, video games files (Batman Arkham City, Dead Space 2, Crysis 1, Battlefield Bad company 2, Dirty 3) and other files like hellish fast!
*Easy to Install
*Very responsive (I'm the slowest component of the whole equation)
*May be able to load and register video game data faster too (if you have the right graphics card)
-No joke, I thought it was a myth, both me and my roommate ran Batman Arkham City the benchmark at the exact same time (we even did a count-down). And my game was able to hit certain points of the game before his!!! I beat him by about 2 seconds, and that's a lot of time in computer terms!!! I read articles online about this phenomenon and I couldn't believe it when I saw it!!).
If anyone else has experienced this phenom
Cons:
Didn't realize 128 GB would fill up so fast :(
Between all my games (previously listed)
My music (about 9 GB)
Steam
Operating System
I have about 10 GB left ;(
Overall Review:
I was terrified about getting an SSD because of all the initial failures and the eventual death of the product once it reached 3000-5000 reads and writes. But then I realized that in my home we have 4 Samsung products now and they all work well (2 TV's, one Computer Monitor and a Blue-ray home theater system). Plus Samsung SSD's have some of the Best reviews (Crucial tops best).
I got this product because it had great reviews (owner verified reviews).
Although the 3000-5000 times that an SSD can delete and copy information is a worry to me. I don't really care because I figure that I delete something every 1 week and by that logic this product should last me at least 10 years (which is all I would need).
Also, I am not using this in Raid 0,1 or anything else. It is the hard drive I used for my first ever PC build!
P.S
I am glad this thing doesn't load from off in less than 20 seconds, because hitting that bios button would be a Bi+c@.
If a NOOB like me can use this,
