Are you kidding me 09/22/2012
This review is from: Mace MVC-IRVB-49 480 TV lines (Color) MAX Resolution BNC SQ Series IR Vandal Resistant Bullet Camera
Pros:
None whatsoever at the price of almost $200.00
Cons:
Old Sony CCD technology and really not that good. Clarity and distance is poor in daylight, very bad at night.
Tech Support at Mace is not very intelligent. The Tech person said I can't mount the camera to a vinyl sided home because vinyl is porous.
Hey, wood is porous, brick is porous, stone is porous, what ISN'T porous? Glass...
I don't live in a glass house.
That rep needs a grammar school education.
Terrible.
Overall Review:
A much higher quality, NEW and much BETTER technology Vonnic VCD505W2 480 TV Lines MAX Resolution Outdoor Night Vision Dome Camera is selling for one third the price on Newegg at $70.00. I bought BOTH from Newegg. There is no comparison at all. The Vonnic flat out blows away the Mace, by far.
I can buy three (3) Vonnics for the price of (1) Mace and the Vonnic kicks the Mace's keister all over the place.
Vonnic: 1/3" Sony Super HAD CCD II
Mace: 1/3" Sony CCD
Vonnic: 2.8-12mm Varifocal Lens
Mace: 4 ~ 9mm Varifocal Lens
Vonnic: IR Distance: 120ft (36m) (36 IR LED @ 5mm)
Mace: IR Distance: 65ft (20m) (28pcs IR LED)
Are you kidding me?
For $190 for the Mace...no way.
I want a refund Newegg!!
