Easy set up, good volume 11/08/2012
This review is from: Energy Power Bar Soundbar System
Pros:
-Great sale price ($299).
-Includes digital audio cable.
-Quick and easy set up; Just plug it to the TV and electrical outlet and you're done.
-By default volume on remote for popular TVs (such as Samsung) will control the SoundBar volume.
-Minimal amount of buttons; nice aesthetics.
Cons:
-Would be 3 stars if purchased at $399 price; not enough features to justify the $399 price (at least to me).
Overall Review:
My Samsung UN55ES6100FXZA had to connect via the RCA audio in instead of the digital audio cable. I had my PS3 and Xbox 360 plugged into the TV in the HDMI 1 and 2 ports. When I had the SoundBar in digital input mode, it would play the audio from the Xbox and PS3 without any problems. When watching TV or using the SmartHub apps that are built-in to the TV it would not play any audio through the SoundBar. Once I added a pair of RCA audio cables (my TV audio out is either HDMI, digital optical, or stereo jack) the sound would come through regardless of input source.
I can't remember if it came with RCA audio cables or not, but I do remember it did not come with the Stereo Y to RCA audio cable (which is understandable).
Ship weight was just under 28 lbs.
Energy really has made a nice little SoundBar + Sub set up.
