Solid card while it lasted. Horrible customer service from MSI 12/03/2012
This review is from: MSI GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card N570GTX Twin Frozr II
Pros:
-Good Cooling
-One of the best cards at release when I purchased it
-Decent while it lasted
Cons:
-One fan would always run a bit loud, but it was just something I lived with until it eventually died.
I then entered the hell that was the RMA process with MSI.
Upon return of the item, there was no communication on MSI's end and it's really impossible to try and contact them via their customer service number.
I received a refurbished card in return that had a BSOD upon installation so it was time for another RMA which is a hassle in and of itself since MSI is not responsible for shipping.
The next card I received was again refurbished and worked for the first few days, until I started having constant driver crashes with it. I also have a GTX 470 from another manufacturer that does not have any problems
MSI's customer support does not seem to care upon contacting them and I really don't feel like going through the trouble of another RMA with them if I'm just going to get another refurbished card that is defective. I'm sure some poor sap is out there returning my original card with the busted fan because MSI does not seem to test the products they ship out.
Overall Review:
The card was solid for a year and change until the trouble started. Now, I've gone almost 3 months without my 570. I'm staying away from MSI and sticking with EVGA and Asus. Buy from them at your own risk.
