Pros:
Price was good. Nice to have the adapter bracket along with it.
Cons:
Newly built computer using Biostar TZ77B MOBO and Intel i5 3570K, Thermaltake TR2700, Corsair 8GB DDR3 (which came with the MOBO). Love my setup, just not the OCZ Vertex 4. This was going to be my first build using a SSD. I had high hopes but was let down hard. After building the computer and startup I went into the BIOS. I was happy to see that everything was seen as should have been and noted that I had the latest firmware (confirmed this with the Biostar website using my mobo model #). I left defaults alone and went ahead and loaded the OS (Win 7 Pro X 64). OS loaded without a hitch. Upon entering the desktop the system crashed. Not BSOD but rebooted without reentering the OS, just repeatedly flashed the mobo's T-Series screen. I then went into the BIOS to change the SATA from IDE to AHCI. Restarted the computer and did a fresh load of Win & Pro. Still same results. After much troubleshooting (disconnecting/reconnecting....tried different SATA ports on mobo, cleared CMOS etc.) still no luck. I researched and found OCZ's instructions on flashing the firmware for the SSD along with Secure-Erase and running ATTO to test the stability of SSD. Only problem is that flashing requires you to be online. BINGO!!! This is a new computer that I cannot successfully boot into, thus no internet!!!!! I emailed OCZ with specific problem that I was experiencing and Jeff responded giving me the same instruction set I came across the night before. Why on earth am I going to buy a new SSD expecting that I should have to flash, perform secure-erase and then run a 4 hour test on just to ensure that it is good for use. Is this normal for SSD's???? My first one but I doubt it. If so, no thanks, I will stick to HDD's for now.

Dear DRC,
I believe we can help you with this as there seems to have been some miscommunication. Most likely your Vertex 4 is already running the latest firmware but will require a Secure Erase because of the previous install in IDE mode. You do not need an internet connection to perform a Secure Erase using our Bootable Toolbox. Also, even if the drive required a firmware update, the Bootable Toolbox can update outside the OS as it has its own network drivers. If you are still in possession of the drive please contact our Support Forum and we will walk you through this step by step.
