Ok board, but get the 990 if you can afford. 08/27/2013
This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros:
Over clocked my FX-8320 to 4.2 before throttling became a issue.
Cons:
Throttling from what is assumed to be the VRM overheating a little to quickly IMO.
I had to request the BIOS version that allows you to disable "APM". GB did send this to me within 24 hours.
Overall Review:
*I mainly wrote this review to correct the guy below about the number for fans. There are 4, not 3.
CPU_fan , PWR_fan , Sys_fan1 , Sys_Fan2
CPU_Fan - is obviously for the CPU fan, and shouldn't be used for anything else.
PWR_Fan - from what I understood is for the PSU, but, modern PSU don't use it. PWR can be used for any fan, it will not control the speed.
Sys_fan2 - can be used for anything, it is not speed controlled.
Sys_fan1 - can be used for anything, but is speed controlled.
Sorry about the quick review, really just wanted to clear up the mobo fan connection issue. I don't want people not buying this because they are misinformed about the number of fan connections.
