Makes Me Coffee, Is My Friend 09/22/2013
This review is from: Cuisinart DCC-1100BK 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Black
Pros:
Bought this in a surge of anger after my $40 coffee maker died of cheapness. (As I actually fix commercial coffee equipment for a living, my attempt to fix the cheap piece of garbage only made me angrier. You do get what you pay for. Do not pay for West Bend.) I had used a fancier Cuisinart before, and liked it, so got this one. It makes coffee, it does it well, and is well-designed to boot. (Example: The opening on the tank is larger than the pour spout on the carafe. Doesn't sound like much, but if you're trying to fill the coffee maker with water before you've had your coffee... It's the little things.)
I have been using this coffee maker for months, all of the functions still work, and the auto brew feature is wonderful.
Cons:
The only thing on here that gave me pause was the on/off button/selector knob. It just feels a little cheap. Still, it does continue to work, months down the road - so I should probably stop giving it the stink eye every time I press the wobbly little button.
Overall Review:
Newegg gave a good deal, and provided it's usual excellent service. They are my first stop when buying my PC hardware, and now they'll be where I look for my small appliances as well.
