This review is from: TRENDnet TPL-405E 4-Port Powerline AV Adapter Up to 500Mbps
Pros:
No more wireless, so at least there is great stability increase.
Cons:
I'm sure it's the wiring in my old house but 40 Mbps? That's a far cry from the claimed 500 Mbps. And yes I know it says "up to" but I'm still not happy.
Overall Review:
Paired with a TRENDnet TPL-405E 4-Port Powerline AV Adapter
Manufacturer Response:
Hi Anonymous,
Sorry for your unpleasant experience due to slow speed on the 500Mpbs power line adapter. As you may already know, power line adapters won’t provide higher speed while plugging into outlets of power strip, GFI, UPS, or close to appliances which generates more interference. You might want to try different outlets and see differences. Meanwhile, we will suggest to update the latest firmware via the following link, http://www.trendnet.com/downloads/list_subcategory.asp?SUBTYPE_ID=1530, if applicable. Please also take advantage of the power line utility on the CD to help select outlets in your house for better speed. If these still doesn't help please email me at adrian@trendnet.com with “Newegg TPL-405E” in the subject line and I will assist immediately. Hope to receive your response soon and to restore your faith in TRENDnet.
Warmest regards,
Adrian
