Good board for reasonable price 10/11/2013
This review is from: ASRock H81M LGA 1150 Intel H81 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros:
Reasonable price, USB 3 support with header for front ports built into board. SATA 6 Support, nice software configurations and you can update the BIOS directly from the BIOS without having to boot into the OS, SPDIF support for digital surround on receivers without HDMI. Socket 1150 is new and will likely be around for a long time!
Cons:
Only 4 SATA Ports - wish it had 6, No E-Sata Port - but didn't really expect it at this price point.
Overall Review:
I put this together with 4 gb ram for and a G3220 for a low power HTPC. For a $60 board, this had so many good options available, I was surprised at how good a board it was for the money. Worked great with my RAM and had no issues on the install. The included software is good for overclocking and changing system settings. My home theater receiver on this build does not have HDMI and this board has an SPDIF for DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 capability. I didn't see it on any other boards at this price point. It would have been nice to have 6 SATA ports, but with the extra PCI slots, you can always add them later.
