Died an Ugly Death at 6 Months 10/22/2013
This review is from: Manufacturer Recertified OCZ Vertex 2 3.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) OCZSSD3-2VTX120G
Pros:
Super fast while it worked
Cons:
This is the 2nd refurb OCZ drive I have had this year to die at 6 months(different models). This one shows in BIOS but not in Windows "Disk Management".
Thanks be to Carbonite.
Overall Review:
I run a break/fix pc repair shop. Will not ever buy OCZ refurb again. OCZ chose to put a weak/defective product back into the "for sale" pool when they could've either fixed the problem with it OR simply trashed it and moved on. Now I have a headache on my hands.
Something is wrong with this model. Pay attention to the reviews.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear FixnPCs,
We may be able to help you with this. It is very unusual for a drive to show in your BIOS but not in Disk Management. Almost always if a drive has "failed" it will not be detected in the BIOS or OS. If it is being detected in the BIOS a signal is being sent that it is active and ready for use. Please take a moment to contact our Support Forum and describe what you are seeing. We will do whatever we can to correct the issue or will help arrange a RMA if still within the warranty period.
Thank you for sharing your feedback and experience.
Kind Regards,
