This review is from: TRENDnet TV-IP572PI HD 1280 x 800 MAX Resolution RJ45 Megapixel Day / Night 2 Way Audio PoE IP Camera
Pros:
This camera works very well with Zoneminder (a linux based surveillance system) and also seems to be rock solid so far.
The IR (night vision) works very well but the FPS drops by half which is totally normal due to the absence of light. The lens is easily adjusted by turning the outer front rim, and the mounting bracket is strong and easily adjusted.
Set at 1280x800 and 30fps, the picture is crisp clean and plenty fluid, enough to overload many surveillance systems.
The integrated firmware features (motion detection, recording, etc) makes the camera fully functional even standalone..
Cons:
The FOV (Field of vision) or commonly called angle of sight is rather narrow. I'd say from a 20ft distance, you wont be able to see more than 30ft wide. From my living room's corner, I can barely capture the entire living room and its not a big house at all.
While I mentioned that the mounting bracket is strong and well built, it is LARGE!
Overall Review:
Good overall surveillance camera, without any auxiliary surveillance system, the camera can perform very well on its own with a SD card.
