Poor Quality 12/03/2013
This review is from: SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SAE-O ATX Server Motherboard LGA 1150 Intel C226 DDR3 1600
Pros:
- I am assuming if/when i get a working MB, it will be good but since I don't have one that works, I can't say...
Cons:
- defect cpu socket - bent pins
Overall Review:
What I am annoyed about here is the fact that I was shipped a defective MB that supermicro themselves had identified as defective. How do I know this ? there were stickers on the cpu socket pins indicating that there were issues... How it left super micro i don't know... hence poor quality control comment. Now to add insult to injury, newegg wants me to pay to ship the MB back. Yes, I know they state this in the faq page, but since i never had to return something before to newegg, I assumed that RMA for defects would be covered... NOPE! I also contacted SuperMicro support to see if I could RMA through them... their response was - since I bought it from newegg i need to go through new egg. Again, never had a manufacture point me back to a merchant for their own product.
In the end, i received a dud MB that is going to cost me over $33 to return and get a replacement. All of this because there was a break down in quality control. If my luck continues, i will probably get another bad MB and go through the process again, costing me yet more money and time... Frustrating to say the least.
Long story short I would recommend people only buy SuperMicro products from local dealers in case you have issues, that way you won't be affected by expensive shipping fees should you be affected by poor quality.
