Sleep Issues 12/31/2013
This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 Dual Band Wireless N900 PCI Express Adapter, 2.4 GHz 450 Mbps / 5 GHz 450 Mbps, IEEE 802.1a/b/g/n, WEP / WPA / WPA2, Plug & Play in Windows 8
Pros:
Good speeds.
Cons:
Takes a FULL MINUTE to connect to a network when awoken from sleep. This sounds decent, but when other cards take 5-10 seconds, this is unacceptable.
No, TP Link the driver does not need updated. It's the current driver off TP-LINK.COM
Too long to wake up.
Manufacturer Response:
Hello Customer,
Thank you for checking out our Adapter.
The issue that you are seeing is usually controled by your Operating System.
The OS tells the device to turn off and turn on after sleep.
You can find under the Power Management settings the tab "Allow Windows to turn this device off". This will let your Computer know how to turn the Adapter back on after it comes on from Sleep.
If you have any issues or concerns then feel free to contact me directly at howard.he@tp-link.com.
Best Regards!
