Not compatable for Asus P5QC Q9650 01/15/2014
This review is from: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7D-8GBXH
Pros:
None because I never got my PC to boot on these ram modules.
Cons:
I purchased these after reading what a G.Skill administrator wrote on G. Skill's forums. He said it was compatible with the latest bios but you might have to bump the NB voltage up a little. I tried everything to get these to work without any luck.
Overall Review:
Its not the ram modules fault. The Asus P5QC is referred to as a frankenboard because it supports both DDR2 and DDR3 modules. This probably would have worked if Asus had updated the bios. The lesson I learned is don't go cheap when purchasing memory on a new PC and always max out the memory capacity using modules listed under the motherboard manufacturers memory QVL. Technology is always changing and you may never be able to add compatible memory later on. I just purchased the Asus Sabertooth mb with 64 gb of 2400 G.Skill memory from Newegg.
Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer
Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. We are sorry to hear you were unable to get the memory working in your system. DDR3 memory has changed quite a bit since the first generation and days of the LGA 775 CPU. The older BIOS may not be detecting the newer type correctly. In the future if you have any memory issues or questions, please don't hesitate to contact us directly. The G.Skill support team is readily available to assist you to get the RAM working fast and stable in your computer. With the new X79 platform and G.Skill RAM, you will have one of the most powerful computers one can build. A new computer won't be needed for a while. 64GB with a high end 6-core CPU is like having six gaming systems in one, you will be extremely pleased.
Thank you
