Review is for the CM Storm Xornet - 2000 DPI Optical Gaming Mouse with Durable Omron Microswitches 01/16/2014
This review is from: CM Storm Xornet - 2000 DPI Optical Gaming Mouse with Durable Omron Microswitches
Pros:
Worked good while it lasted (less than 2 months)
Cons:
The mouse dies in less than 2 months. Ordered mouse in late November and it died in December. The RMA process through cooler master was a nightmare. You have to call them to find get an RMA email. The attached PDF were instructions to signup for their site and register the mouse before filling out a RMA request. The instructions they sent via email on PDF was horrible. I'm still waiting for a replacement mouse or something
Overall Review:
Cooler Master has gone down the drain! I will NEVER buy another cooler master product. I had a Cooler Master powersupply go out and take the MB, CPU and one stick of RAM with it. I thought I'd give them a chance on this mouse but at last the quality is non-existent. I had to call them to find out how to RMA this paper weight. The tech walked me through several scripted steps to make sure the mouse was broken. Once he confirmed that I had gone through all the steps he “approved” the RMA email. He mentioned that once they receive the mouse and confirm that it is broken (and not me just wanting to replace a 1.5 month old mouse for a new one) they’ll send a replacement. Then the sign up process was a nightmare. The instructions on the PDF was not clear, it did not mention having to close the browser and logging in again to register the mouse – I figured that out when I couldn’t register the mouse after creating a logon ID. I had to pay shipping ($10.00 – if I had known I would have thrown it out… but I asked my wife to ship it. She didn’t think about the price of shipping and thought I wanted this shipped no matter what – lack of communication on my part.). I received an acknowledgement email that they received the mouse but nothing else. Still waiting….waiting……waiting…..
Manufacturer Response:
Mr. W,
I'm terribly sorry for the troubles you had with your Xornet and also the power supply you mentioned. I am also very sorry for the lack of clarity on accessing our support services.
I am providing links below to our primary support services, but you can always find our support offerings on our main website at http://www.coolermaster-usa.com under the "Support" menu option on the left. Our eRMA information and parts request services are in the Parts and Product Replacement link below. Our various contact methods, including tickets and live chat are all located there and through the Contact Us link below.
In regards to your exchange with one of our support team members, we actually don't like to work off a script of any kind. We go through personalized troubleshooting steps that either clarify the problem or may resolve the issue as it has done for other customers with previous, potentially similar situations. The main idea is that if we can help you resolve the problem via chat or the phone, it saves you a lot of time and trouble instead of being without the mouse while it undergoes replacement, especially with shipping time.
If you have any questions about our services, needed any more assistance, or wanted to share any of your concerns, please do not hesitate to talk to use directly. We're always striving to improve and if our services didn't work out for you, we'd love to know exactly how we can fix that from you directly :)
Regards,
