Good receiver for the price 01/24/2014
This review is from: YAMAHA RX-V573 7.1-Channel Network AV Receiver
Pros:
it is relatively small and light.
Sound is pretty good.
Bi-amp feature is nice.
runs cool. my old onkyo 807 could fry an egg. this one is luke warmish.
the apps are cool if your into that stuff.
Cons:
remote kind of sucks. it doesn't control my Fios tv box well at all.
not crazy powerful, my old onky 807 shook the neighbor's neighbors house, this one is sufficient for my living room but not down the street lol.
to disconnect the power cord from the receiver you have to take apart the housing of the unit. (not a big deal for most but made my install a bit harder).
only 4 hdmi inputs, (not an issue for me but for some it can be, competitors usually have 5).
only on non-HD channels it cuts the video for a second when changing the volume, I have no clue why, it works fine on HD and my PS3.
Overall Review:
for the price I'd say its a good deal. I'm used to something a bit more high powered but for under $300 its pretty good.
