This review is from: NETGEAR WNDR3700-100NAS V.5 Wireless Gigabit Open Source Router/ USB port Rangemax 2.4/5 GHz Simultaneous N600 Dual Band IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, IEEE 802.3/3u/3ab
Pros:
Lots of customization. There are a lot of options to allow you to customize your setup in any way you want.
Cons:
The 5 GHZ network is terrible. My main PC is about 15 feet away (I measured) and is CONSTANTLY getting disconnected. It will often connect/disconnect from the network multiple times every minute. It is extremely unreliable and unusable. All of my devices must use 2.4 or be plagued by interruptions. This is my first dual band router and was especially excited to have access to faster network speeds for movie streaming and file transfer but am unable to take advantage of it.
Overall Review:
I know the 5 GHZ frequency has a shorter effective operating distance, but there is no reason why it shouldn't be able to reach 15 feet.
