I deeply regret 02/20/2014
This review is from: ASUS ROG PCI-E 240GB PCI-Express 2.0 x2 MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) RAIDR Express
Pros:
Easy to install.
Cons:
This expensive piece of junk looks beautiful. Even now I enjoy looking at the light inside the case and the vented pci slot. But looks are deceiving. Boot up time is improved somewhat, but the software that comes with the card is hidden on a disk which is bootable. It comes up in an early linux distro which asks you to insert a floppy disk so you can create some sort of system disk. So don't boot up with it, insert the disk only after booting up. Then run the software. This is explained nowhere in the manual. The ram disk created by the software rarely appears in Windows. The packaging is really impressive though. Find someone who has bought the card and get the packaging from them. Save your money and get a fast, less expensive card. Nice idea, an ssd which uses the speed of the pci express bus. Just not well executed with this one.
Overall Review:
I bought this after watching Paul and a factory rep review it on a Youtube video, and in spite of other cautionary reviews. I must be nuts.
