Delayed Write Failed 02/20/2014
This review is from: Seagate SV35.6 ST1000VX000 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Surveillance Hard Drive Bare Drive
Pros:
cheaper and 16% less of a failure rate than WD drives of comparable cost and stats...
Cons:
Purchased 4, two installed, partitioned and formatted without a problem. 1 took some work to get working. 1 just did not work. after less than 24 hours the 1 that took a while to get to work, failed on me during the first time i attempted to write something to. delayed write failures and loads of "The IO operation at logical block address 12da00 for Disk 2 was retried" 50% failure rate and then $23 to RMA the two bad ones back is pretty terrible. Not a very happy camper with how this turned out. I have had much better luck in the past with Seagate products, but this just put a dent in my confidence with them.
Overall Review:
really hope that 50% of the replacements are not bad once i get them... because then i will be spending half the cost of a drive on pointless shipping charges just to RMA something that was not quality tested before being shipped.
