Best Router I've Ever Owned! 03/22/2014
This review is from: ASUS RT-N66U N900 Dual-Band WiFi Gigabit Router
Pros:
I bought this router to replace my Linksys E3000 router because the E3000 couldn't quite cover my entire home with a wifi signal.
The ASUS RT-N66U has no problem covering my entire home with a very good wifi signal. In areas of my home were I couldn't connect at all when I had the E3000 now have an excellent signal.
Open Source support was a big selling point for me. I flashed Shibby's Tomato firmware to this router.
This router is way over specced for a router. 256MB of RAM and a 600MHz are basically the top of the line for routers.
This router easily handles my 120Mb/s internet connection.
The sleek black design looks very good.
I really like the standard replaceable antennas. Most routers these days are moving towards no antennas. Not this router. Not only are the antennas easily replaceable, and they use the standard antenna connector, but the antennas ASUS includes are high-gain already. So you really don't have to replace them. Most routers that do come with removable antennas usually include low-gain antennas.
Cons:
The only real con I could come up with for this router was that the finish really shows fingerprints. But I don't really care all that much.
